I, Achchi Mohamed Inun Jariya, a committed Senior Lecturer with over 15 years of teaching
experience have been working at the department of Accountancy and Finance in South Eastern
University since 2001. With the experience of teaching a diversified social and cultural target
group and my involvement in the research and administrative work, I am confident that I
possess effective teaching skills, research skills and administrative skills that are required to be
an effective academia.
Having obtained first class in Bachelor of Business Administration from South Eastern
University of Sri Lanka and my master degree in Business Administration from the University
of Colombo, Sri Lanka, I am currently reading my PhD at the University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka.
I began my academic career as a Temporary Assistant Lecturer at the Department of
Accountancy and Finance, Faculty of Management and Commerce (FMC) of South Eastern
University of Sri Lanka in 2001. After being a Lecturer Probationary on contract at the
Department of Accountancy and Finance for six months I served as a Lecturer in Accountancy
until August 2003 and was promoted as a Senior Lecture Gr. II in 2008 and Senior Lecturer
Gr. I in Accountancy in 2014.
I functioned as the Head of Accountancy and Finance for a period of three years from 2012 to
2015. I also served as the Subject Coordinator / Accounting, member of Management
Committee of Postgraduate Unit of FMC, Board of study MBA and External degree
programmes of FMC, Quality Assurance and Accreditation Cell, Curriculum Development
Committee and Editorial Board of Journal of management.
Apart from this, I have published many research papers in various national and international
indexed and referee journals, and also presented research papers at various International and
National Conferences both in Sri Lanka and abroad. I had been a Chair Person at Technical
Session, reviewer, advisory committee member, member of editorial board, etc. for several
journals and international conferences both nationally and internationally.
I played an active role as the coordinator for Exemption and Accreditation from ACCA and
CMA for BBA and B.COM degree programmes. In addition, I have been contributing to the
development of the department, faculty and the university in different aspects.
The journey of my career will continue to strive hard in being a high caliber academia cum a
researcher in the field of accountancy and finance.
