I do part-time teaching since 2009 in Girne American University in North Cyprus, where I fly

University, Astana, Kazakhstan, as part of winter (January-February 2012) and summer (June

2013) schools.

I have also offered a series of lectures on Turkish foreign and internal politics (April 2013) at

the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy

Selected Professional Awards, Honours and Scholarships:

June 1999: UK and EU Common European Program fellowship to conduct research in

Brussels, Berlin and London.

January 1998: International Visitor Grant, Federal Republic of Germany

June-September 1997: Onassis Foundation, Senior Lecturer Grant.

March-April 1996: International Visitor Grant to visit the US. It is commonly known as the

Emerging World Leaders programme to visit major centers of the US. In my programme I

spent ten days in Washington DC, a week in California and then five days in Minnesota and a

week in New York, altogether a month

February 1995: US-NATO Common Security Program award to visit political and military

experts in Brussels, Venice and Vienna.

1985-1992: Scholarship by the Turkish Ministry of Education to do my Ph.D. in Britain.

A number of my graduate students have been extremely successful in their careers. Many

of my Turkish graduate students have become lecturers and senior lecturers in major

Turkish universities, while others, especially those from the Balkans have climbed up the

ladder fast, such as the deputy prime minister of Kosovo, head of the Constitutional Court

of Kosovo and the Ambassador of Kosovo. One other student of mine in Albania was

minister of justice and then he became minister of foreign affairs for some time.

A number of my graduate students have been extremely successful in their careers. Many

of my Turkish graduate students have become lecturers and senior lecturers in major

Turkish universities, while others, especially those from the Balkans have climbed up the

ladder fast, such as the deputy prime minister of Kosovo, head of the Constitutional Court

of Kosovo and the Ambassador of Kosovo. One other student of mine in Albania was

minister of justice and then he became minister of foreign affairs for some time.
