WORK HISTORY
I started my career as a primary school teacher in 1999. My school teaching
lasted only four months. I quit the job to join M. Ed Course in the same year. After
completing my M Ed Course, I joined a self-financing B. Ed college in 2001. There
I worked for four months. From there I accepted a contract base appointment
in Government Training College at Thrichur, which was recognized MHRD as
‘Institute of Advanced Studies in Education’ (IASE). After one year contract,
during 2001 to 2002, I joined a B Ed college at Mallappally, Kerala. This was
Page 3 of 53
during 2002 to 2003. In 2003 I joined full time research at MG University,
Kottayam.
After completing almost two years of full time research at School of
Pedagogical Sciences, M G University, Kottayam I joined N S S Training college
at Ottapalam as lecturer on regular basis. NSS Training College (Biggest teacher
Education College in Kerala in terms of number of students) is a Government –
aided college having UG and PG courses. Thus I started my regular government
service in 1st December, 2005.
In January 2007 I submitted my Ph. D thesis and was awarded in 2008 march. In
June 2009, I was offered an appointment as Assistant Professor, in School of
Education of Pondicherry University. I accepted the offer and become a
member of the academic society of this university which has great credentials
for its claim. Pondicherry University is a central University, established through an
Act of Parliament in 1985, and has just completed its 25th year of existence in
2010. As said earlier, I am serving as a faculty member in School of Education of
this university. The School of Education was established in 2007 and was selected
for Special Assistance Programme (SAP) in 2011 by UGC, New Delhi within a
short span of its existence. Major programmes offered by our school are M.Ed.
(Master of Education), Ph.D. in Education, P.G. Diploma in Teaching Skills, and
Diploma in Preschool Education. I am fortunate to be a member in the
committee for developing these programmes and its various courses and was
part of teaching all these programmes since my joining in this university. In July
2015 I received offer of appointment as Associate Professor from the Central
University of Kerala (CUK). I joined CUK on 22nd July 2015. Subsequently I was
appointed as Dean Students' welfare (DSW) óf Central University of Kerala from
7/9/2015. As DSW I am working for the welfare of around 1200 students in the
campus. My initiatives in the campus under DSW include streamlining the
Page 4 of 53
procedure for scholarships and Fellowship for the students, so that students get
their entitlement regularly. As the administrator of 5 hostels of the University I
have ensured high quality hostel facilities for the students. As DSW I have been
the link between University authorities and students.Conduct of Cultural fest,
Open forum, Speakers forum, University Magazine, Tree plantation initiatives,
Initiatives for sports, Health Facility etc are some areas where I have engaged
as DSW. I demitted the office of DSW on 15/8/2017.As an associate Professor in
the department of Education of CUK I prepared a Project Proposal for making
the department of Education in to a School of Education by adding two new
study programmes under PMMMNMTT scheme of MHRD, Government of India.
The proposal was accepted and the CUK was granted with PMMMNMTT School
of Education. The CUK appointed me as the Project Head of the PMMMNMTT
School of Education of CUK. As the first installment of the project an amount of
5crore 52 lakh has been sanctioned. The project is on its wheel now.
