Lab Manager: Supervised, ordering of lab supplies, equipment, and repair/maintenance of lab equipment. Responsible for Radiation Safety Officer and Lab Safety Officer duties such as training all incoming personnel, chemical inventory database administration, toxic/hazardous waste management, and supervision of undergraduate lab assistants in performing general laboratory upkeep. Also perform mouse husbandry, maintaining and typing several transgenic mouse lines.

6/98-6/99 Research and Development Associate: Development and optimization of method for conversion of radioactive to non-radioactive labeling and imaging of packaged viral DNA by southern blot, dot blot, and infectivity assay. Characterization and analysis of adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector product using various protein and DNA assays. Production of recombinant AAV vector for development of scale-up procedures. Have also completed various research projects testing for the presence of translated gene of interest by RT-PCR of animal tissue and semen samples.

UCSD Medical School La Jolla, California 6/91-8/91 Research Assistant: Participated as an intern in Dr. MelvinGreen’s biology

lab studying the effects of canavanine and glycerol on the LPS of the Bort, E. coli bacteria as part of a group research project. Presented our results at a symposium at the completion of the program.

6/90-8/90 Research Assistant: Internship funded by the National Institutes of Health

during which I was placed in Dr. John Holland’s virology lab. Learned various lab techniques that included the proliferation of a cell culture. Performed various lab technician duties such as preparing media and sterilizing glassware.

Created major changes to modernize curriculum based on ACGME requirements, as well as resident and faculty input.

w 2016-present Research Committee Member Americas Hepato Pancreato Biliary Association, This committee is responsible for full program development and coordination of the AHPBA biyearly Consensus Conference. Selects recipient of research fellowship and also charged with encouraging collaborative hepatic, pancreatic or biliary research and foster the training of young investigators and fellows.

local communities about prevention and testing as well as health maintenance of diabetes.

8/02-5/05 Minority Association of Pre-Health Students (SNMA): Coordinate MAPS program at USC undergraduate chapter. Includes mentoring program with medical school students as well as career advising.

6/02-5/05 USC Office of Diversity: Tutor first year medical students in gross anatomy in preparation for practical exams and midterm examinations.
