Course covers the concepts and techniques for defining user requirements for a business information system. The course includes the study of methodologies, feasibility analysis, systems analysis, documentation preparation, and communication of requirements. Both traditional and object-oriented analysis techniques are covered. The CIS A31 0 course is required for all MIS degree majors. Instruct CIS A280 - Managerial Communications course. Course focuses on improving writing, presentation, and teamwork skills within a managerial environment. Emphasizes the development of professional communication strategies based on audience analysis techniques. Lab sessions provide practical, hands-on exercises with emphasis on collaborative report writing and managerial presentations. The CIS A280 course is required for all BBA degree majors. 1987 - 1989 Hennepin Technical Institute Minneapolis, MN Adjunct Instructor: Developed and instructed beginning and advanced courses in the fundamentals of DOS and Lotus 1-2-3 offered to adult students attending evening classes. 2003-present Consulting services for various organizations Anchorage, AK I/T Business Consultant: Perform general business systems consulting to include business process redesign, analysis, database development, and on-going database support / maintenance. Primary client is a security company specializing in alarm monitoring and patrol security services. Define business and functional requirements for a button reading technology and developed a database system that allows company, button, and patrol monitoring and reporting. The database is a statewide system that allows data to be pulled from over five locations including Anchorage, Wasilla, Kenai, Homer, and Ketchikan. The system allows for operational monitoring and client­based reporting. The system currently supports over 10 users.

Worked as project leader and liaison with U ofMN Central units to ensure that AHC information and process needs were met during University-wide PeopleSoft HRlPayrol1 implementation. Authored system requirements project charter documents for PeopleSoft enhancements / modifications for submittal to Central U of MN. Represented the AHC on University data warehouse design team. Responsible for the management, system maintenance, and support of smaller college- level business applications involving Graduate Medical Education, AAMC reporting, and faculty private practice income and benefits reporting.

Oracle Database Administrator (1998 - 2001 ): In addition to systems analysis and project lead duties, assumed role as database administrator for the AHC's Office of Administrative Information Systems. Responsible for the upgrade and migration of Oracle 7.3 to Oracle 8.05 on Unix. Developed upgrade and migration plan, installed Oracle software, created and configured new tables paces, worked with other application developers to determine database growth and usage as well as specific application and user security considerations. Coordinated backup and recovery operations and procedures with the Unix Systems Administrator.
