  • Study Skills and Homework Character and effort are as important as intelligence for success in life! Successful students persist in the face of difficulty. Teachers should try to foster self-control and grit. Homework assignments should be written in agenda daily. They also will be posted on my website. Parents must sign-off on late assignments in student planner. Late math homework receives half credit if turned in one day late but none after that. Other late assignments at teachers discretion.

  • 2012 AP ENGLISH LITERATURE AND COMPOSITION FREE- RESPONSE QUESTIONS Question 1 (Suggested time40 minutes. This question counts as one-third of the total essay section score.) In the following poem by Sir Philip Sidney (1554-1586), the speaker addresses the subject of desire. Read the poem carefully. Then write a well-developed essay in which you analyze how poetic devices help to convey the speakers complex attitude toward desire. Thou Blind Mans Mark Thou blind mans mark,1 thou fools self-chosen snare, Fond fancys scum, and dregs of scattered thought; Band of all evils, cradle of causeless care; Thou web of will, whose end is never wrought; 5 Desire, desire! I have too dearly bought, With price of mangled mind, thy worthless ware; Too long, too long, asleep thou hast me brought, Who should my mind to higher things prepare.
