Theory, Non-Archimedean Analysis, Fluid Dynamics, Graph Theory, Queuing Models and Partial differential equations. The department strives to provide excellent teaching, encourage interdisciplinary research and service to students and teaching community in the application of Mathematics to other disciplines. Also “Sri Ramanujam Mathematics Club” was founded in the year 1991 through which an Intra Mathematics Festival(IMF) and Engineering Mathematics Festival(EMF) are conducted every year to help the students sharpen their analytical skills.
ABOUT WCTB AND ITS THEME
The Department of Mathematics has conducted WAME-2019 on applications of mathematics in engineering.
This year's focal theme is on recent developments in biomathematics. It will enrich all the participants who are already working in this eld and also who are trying to work in this eld will get beneted by the fruitful resources from our invited talks provided by the professors and researchers from premier institutes like IITs, NITs, etc., We hope that every participant of our program may get stimulated and enforced to start or trigger their research to achieve milestones after attending our workshop.
There are sessions which can make the audience get into the areas like systems of ODE, PDE and their Stability analysis, Bifurcations or Chaos (depends upon the system consideration). Some of them may deliver about sensitivity analysis of the system. We are planning to keep most of the aspects of modeling and analysis part of the research. The participation in this workshop may kindle the incubation towards innovative researches.

SRMIST is accredited by NAAC with A++ Grade and placed in top positions in ARIIA and NIRF Ranking in the academic year 2018-19. Our University hosted 98th Indian Science Congress in 2011.
Recently, our SRMIST bagged the following awards: QS-STARS 4-star rating award, The most prestigious National Intellectual Property award, STEM impact award, Green metric award, AICTE-CII INDPACT award, university of the year award 2019 by FICCI and three SWACHHATA awards.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Mathematics is one of the pioneering departments in the university. The Department of Mathematics established in the year 1985, consists of 82 highly qualied faculty members which includes 54 doctorates. The Department, till date, has produced 34 Ph.Ds in different branches of Mathematics. There are 35 recognized guides (of whom eight are doctorates from IITs) who are guiding 104 research scholars. Over the years, the department has progressed at a rapid pace with development in academic programs. The department has to its credits two funded research projects from SERB-DST. It offers graduate, postgraduate courses, Ph.D program in Mathematics and handles all the Mathematics courses in Engineering, Computer Applications,Medical Sciences and Management. To meet the requirement of these courses, the department has set up a modern computer lab with all the latest software. The faculty members of the depar tment are actively participating in research and development activities. The specic areas of research in which the department is actively engaged are Fuzzy Set
