• Lebanon’s government condemned the rocket fire
• Hezbollah, a Lebanese militant group is suspected by Israel of using allied radical groups to irritate Israel
• In summer 2006 short but intense war between Israel and Hezbollah
• Could become major problem for Israel since they are already fighting a war in the south (Gaza) with Hamas

•The rest of the rescue plan money would go on spending programs like highways, bridges, schools

Obama’s Plan Faces Opposition Obama’s Plan Faces Opposition Obama's proposed tax cuts ran into opposition Thursday from senators in his own
party who said they wouldn't do much to stimulate the economy or create jobs.
Senators from both parties agreed that Congress should do something to stimulate the economy. But Democratic senators of the Senate Finance Committee criticized business and individual tax cuts in Obama's stimulus plan.
Obama and Congress want a plan passed by mid-February since the economy is in such trouble
