    The evolution of assignment

    Fall II, 2014 :

Students explore NIH 3D resources website

Download interested model Book printing time and print their models individually

Write about the biological background of the molecule and reflect

    Spring I, 2015

    Additional Modifications:

    Students are organized into groups

    Surveys are conducted

    Fall I, 2015

    Additional Modifications:

Library staff gave an introduction lecture about 3D printing at the

    beginning

Optimize the appointment making procedure with the library staff

Students were asked to share this experience on their social media

    Printing the 3D biological model

The 3D printing helped us have a betterunderstanding of the molecule and its

    biological structure. -----Jane

With the 3D printer we can see small

sections and color it in as well to betterunderstand what we are looking at with

the hands on feel to it, something a

    textbook cant give us. ------------Maria

The 3D printing experience wassomething new that is very helpful and

easy to remember and surprisingly fun. --

By being a student here at LaGuardia

    Community College, this 3D printing

experience is one of the best memories

that I have so far. ---------- Alana

I posted this picture on Facebook

November 12 at 8:46pm. The post got 11

likes and a comment saying Lucky! I dont

have that at my school Which makes me

feel really lucky to have technology as the

3D printer at my school available to thestudents of LaGuardia Community

    College.------- Maria
