Culminating Exhibition Examples
~Poster Boards~ This has a lot
of information
but is really
hard to read
and pretty
boring!
More specific information and
visuals, not a lot of text, letter
is an acceptance letter into the
Army~
BORING!!
Better, but
still too much
text!!
Your Name
here
This was used in conjunction
with a PowerPoint presentation.
Problem is that the audience
can’t really get a good look at
your reflection sheets.
Good use of pictures, but don’t use
paragraphs of text!
Pictures were used only as an aid only,
along with her verbal presentation~
This is an example from last year,
the student used a folder with
archive pieces picked out to
illustrate:
Who am I?
Where am I going?
How will I get there?

My Family List of family members
How does my family influence me?
I think my family has mostly taught me how to be a leader.
They have always taught me how to have fun.
They have also taught me the importance of love and respect.
I am a daughter, sister, aunt, and
sister-in-law
My Boyfriend
He is my best
friend in the
world.
Boyfriend
A lot of my friends come from
being so involved in Jazz Choir.
I really have tons of friends I couldn’t even list them all on this page if I tried. But each of
them influence me in a way to be who I am.
Friends
name
Good friends Choir friends
Extracurricular Activities I love Church! I go to church every Sunday and every decision in
my life is influenced by what I have learned in church. Going to church has made me a better person, friend, leader, and has really just plain made me a smarter kid. Because of church I am very ambitious and have a lot of goals for myself. I want to do what is right because I know it is right.
I have played many sports throughout my life.
The two sports that I love the most are gymnastics and
volleyball. I have played both for about 7 years. Each
sport has taught me determination and how to
challenge myself.
I’m actively involved in choir. I am the
vice president of Jazz Choir and I love to sing Jazz
and listen to it. I have gained friends and
knowledge from choir. Some of my best memories
from high school are from being in choir.
I plan to be going places in my education, my career, and by obtaining my very
own family.
College My Ambitions for college were big. I really wanted to follow the footsteps of my brother and sister by going to 4-year college. So I applied, and in months I got a letter back. This is what happened.
I wasn’t accepted. This was a huge shock for me because I have good grades and didn’t do bad on my ACT and SAT.
I thought some more about what I wanted to do and decided I really was interested in medical assisting. After deciding this I found a small technical college in Oregon close to family.
After reading information about this college I decided that I really liked the college and the programs it had to offer. I can still move to the area I wanted to and get an education that will be perfect for me.
Sorry!
Not
accepted!
Again~ TOO much
Information
Career Right now I work at Quiznos
When I move to Oregon I already have a job
teaching toddler gymnastics with my sister.
Even though I will be going to school for
medical assisting I also love teaching and if I
find I like teaching more then I might go back
to school to become an educational assistant or
even a teacher.
• After I graduate from the Medical Assisting program then
I plan on getting some sort of internship for a clinic so I
can practice my freshly learned skills and progress into a
better assistant and work full time.
Family Eventually I would
really love to get married in my church and have a family of my own.

Where is there?
There…..is the place of my dreams, to have a successful life and a loving family of
my own.
Community Service If I continue in the same kind of community
service I have done then it will really help me in getting to the point I want to.
Previous Community Service
•Counselor at Girls Camp
•Painting and working at
Hillcrest Elementary

Try, Try, and Try Again
Baby Steps By taking small steps I will be able to
build a strong foundation for the life I
want. I know that I will be able to get
where I want to be by starting with
small jobs and a little education.
Eventually all the small steps I take will
add up and it will all be worth it.
I will get “there” by continuing to try my hardest. I know that
sometimes my best won’t be enough but I have faith that If I keep
trying my best then I will get to where I want to be.
Use as cues, not so much text~
I hope that my plans will
work out the way I plan
them to. Thanks to my
classes and assignments in
school I have been able to
find out who I am, where I
want to go, and how I need
to perform to get there.
This is something you could use as a cue with
“Thank you” and expand on verbally…..
Movie • This is an example
from a movie someone
made ~ it began with
introduction of the
family, then video of
them playing ultimate
Frisbee, which is
something the family
does together at least
once a month.
• Next pictures of his
friends from school.
• Where am I going
comes next~ what door
will he choose?
• Pictures of teachers
were used to state
that he needed their
help to figure out
where he was going.
• Also, student noted
that he is working at a
fast-food restaurant
right now to save up
money for college.
Scrapbook
Other formats One student played a song on their guitar
as their attention grabber, another had a dress they made while at Sno-Isle
Visual aid was the main focus, such as something made at Sno - Isle or pictures of items made in other classes: art, culinary basics, science experiments, etc.
Especially if your future career “where you are going” is related to that class or project.
Helpful hints? Quotes from a student survey
for those who participated on a Culminating Project.
Look at the examples, use and expand on those.
Check the rubric for requirements.
Don’t wait for the night before to complete.
I would do a little more research by myself on what I want to do with my life.
Practice what you are going to talk about and time yourself.
Be sure to add archive pieces and community service experiences.
Don’t procrastinate!!
