Where We Visit Day 1 – Wednesday, August 28Welcome to San Francisco! You are met upon arrival at San FranciscoInternational Airport and transferred to our luxurious hotel The Huntington. Perchedatoponeofthecity’shighesthillssince1924,thiselegantSanFranciscohotel upholds a long tradition of gracious hospitality and is centrally located forexploringUnionSquare,theFinancialDistrict,andChinatown.Allwithinwalking distance.

Gather thiseveningat the“Top of the Mark Lounge” perched on the 19th flooroftheInterContinentalMarkHopkinsacrosstheroadfromourhotelfora glass of wine to renew friendships and meet new friends while enjoying the wraparoundvistaofSanFrancisco,includingviewsofthemagnificentGoldenGateBridge,AlcatrazandFisherman’sWharf.

Day 2 – Thursday, August 29AfterbreakfastChefDarrenwillexplaintheitineraryindetailandsharestoriesof thefifteenyearshespentwith the royal familyworkinghiswayupfromthe position of Junior Chef at Buckingham Palace to Personal Chef to Princess DianaandPrinces’WilliamandHarry.

Our day today starts with a walking tour through the Ferry Building farmers market where purveyors sell their local farm produce, including Artisan breadsandpastriesthatwillmakeyougainweightjustfromlooking,theyareso good.

Next,abriefstopatPier 39andchancetoshop,walkthepierandwatchDarrenlasso a sea lion for the cooking class later in the week.

After that we head north to Napa, over the Golden Gate Bridge and make a stop in picturesque Sausalito for a very British “Fish & Chips” lunch and a greatphotoopportunityofSanFranciscofromacrossthebay.Napabeckons,from just an hour away.

Ourhotel inNapawill be thedeluxeWestin Verasa Napa. Located on the riverbankintheheartofdowntownandwithinwalkingdistanceofmorethan30restaurantsandsurroundedbyplentyofboutiqueandspecialtyshopping.

For dinner we head to the fabulous Domaine Chandon winery. The pre-dinner ‘Prestige Champagne tasting’ will set the mood for a four-course wine paired meal at the wineries Michelin-starred Etoile restaurant. This restaurant epitomizestheverybestthatwinecountrydininghastooffer.

Day 3 – Friday, August 30 This morning we meander through the beautiful rolling hills covered withvineyardsonourwaytoSonomaforahandsoncookingclasswithChefDarrenat Ramekinsarenownedcookingschool.Darren’smenuincludeslocalproduceandspecialtiesthatwillshowus“bestpractice”techniquesforthechefinallofus.Onceprepared,wewillenjoyour3coursemealwithwine.

This afternoon is free to rest or shop before heading out to dinner. For thoseinterested,ChefDarrenwillhosta“walkingtour”oftheOxbowFarmersMarket,pointingoutlocalproduce,finefoods,andspecialtydesserts.

Tonight we dine in the Reserve cellar at the wonderful Brix Restaurant and GardensintheNapaValley;awinecountryclassic,pairingcontemporaryFrenchinspiredCaliforniacuisinewithacomprehensivecollectionofthevalley’sfinestwine growers and producers.

Tonight the ultimate culinary luxury as we dine at the world famous, French LaundryinYountvilleanddelightattheculinarymagicofThomasKellerasheserves up a 12-course gourmet meal at his Three Michelin star restaurant. Food criticssayitis“thebestrestaurantintheworld”Darrenthinksit’sbetterthanthat!

Day 5 – Sunday, September 1TodaywevisitDarioushWinery, themostbreathtakingwinery in thevalley,Darren’s favorite too. The Khaledi’s Persian heritage is the inspiration andvisionforthewinerythatmakesituniqueitthevalley.Hereweexperiencea“WineHistoryLunch”beginningwithabehindthescenestourofthewinery(notopentothepublic)byafriendofchefDarren’s,celebratedwinehistorianNina Weymyss. Afterwards, a fabulous lunch will be prepared for us byDarioush’sprivatechefandservedin theKhaledi’sprivategarden(orprivatecellardependingonweather.)

Afternoon at leisure.

DinnerthiseveningisattheexquisiteAubergedeSoleilnestinghighupinthehills ofNapavalley.First,wegatherwith cocktails to toast thebreathtakingsunsetoverthevalleyfollowedbyawinepaireddinnerontheprivateopendeckofthisMichelinstarredrestaurant.Afabulousendingtoafabuloustrip!
