Campfire Coffee Rub¼ cup – ground coffee¼ cup – kosher salt¼ cup – brown sugar (or maple sugar)2 tbsp – coarsely ground black pepperCombine ingredients and apply liberally. Beef can handle a generous amount of seasoning so make sure to apply that seasoning to every steak surface for optimum flavour. Store any remaining rub in a sealed container. Directions: Rub 2 tablespoons all over your favorite 8-10 oz steak cut. Grill to desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to ensure for accuracy. For more tips on grilling and other beef cooking techniques visit https://canadabeef.ca/cooking-know-how/

Chef Cameron Pappel Canadian Beef Centre of Excellence

This rub recipe works great with thick, tender and juicy steak cuts from the top sirloin, rib or striploin. The resulting sweet, savoury and charred flavours bring out the best in your beef and work beautifully with bold red wines or dark craft beers like black lagers, porters and stouts – a perfect pairing to summer evenings at home with friends and family.

co-op advertising opportunities

Co-operative Print Ads

You can now share a full page in Culinaire Magazine with other businesses in your area or location - and share the cost of the page too to make it more economical for everyone!

Each page can be split over six smaller advertisements, and each advertiser shares the cost equally. The background is then customized to suit your businesses, or a theme if it’s specific to an area or season.

Each advertiser then supplies press ready artwork, or we can have our designer build it for you for a small charge.

Or you can co-ordinate a photo shoot and share a full page photograph with each business showing their specialty and your business name and contact details by your dish/ingredient/drinks etc.

aLberta beverage awards Alberta’s largest wine, beer and spirits competition, now in its seventh year.

Over three days in July, we bring together an esteemed panel of 25 beverage experts from across the province to taste and evaluate nearly 800 different products. Each entry is evaluated blind in flights of like products.

The results are grouped into categories, and in some cases into regional groupings. In each category the top performing product is awarded “Best in Class”, and other high performing products in the category are awarded “Judges’ Selection”. We often identify a

And the award goes to…

We’ve long believed that Alberta has the best selection of wine, beer, and spirits in the country.

With access to some of the finest liquids to ever grace a bottle (or can) we also have some of the best sommeliers, beverage directors, and restaurateurs in the country.

These people create a list to complement the menu; highlight

regions, countries, or styles that will help a meal become a masterpiece.

Alberta’s Finest Drinks Lists Awards were created to highlight world-class lists. With well over 150 lists submitted in 2018 (our second year), the awards are well received by restaurants and venues around the province. Our results are published in the September issue of Culinaire.

Look for the results in the October issue of culinaire, as well as on culinairemagazine.ca
