3. To protect against risk ofelectrical shock, do not immersethe slow cooker housing inwater or any other liquid. Ifhousing falls into liquid, unplugthe cord from outletimmediately. DO NOT reach intothe liquid.
4. To avoid possible accidentalinjury, close supervision isnecessary when any appliance
is used by or near children.5. Unplug from outlet when not in
use and before cleaning. Allowto cool before putting on ortaking off parts.
6. Do not operate any appliancewith a damaged cord or plug orafter the appliance hasmalfunctioned or has been
dropped or damaged in any wayor is not operating properly.Return the appliance to thenearest Customer Service (seeWarranty for details) forexamination, repair ormechanical or electricaladjustment.
7. The use of attachments notrecommended by Cuisinart maycause fire, electrical shock, orrisk of injury.
8. Do not use outdoors oranywhere the cord or unithousing might come intocontact with water while in use.
9. Do not use the slow cooker foranything other than its intendeduse.
10. To avoid the possibility of theslow cooker being accidentally
pulled off work area, whichcould result in damage to theslow cooker or personal injury,do not let cord hang over edgeof table or counter.
11. To avoid damage to cord andpossible fire or electrocutionhazard, do not let cord contacthot surfaces, including a stove.
12. Extreme caution must be usedwhen moving a slow cookercontaining hot oil or other hotliquids.
13. Do not place on or near a hotgas or electric burner, or in aheated oven.
14. Do not operate slow cooker in
water or under running water.15. Avoid sudden temperature
changes, such as addingrefrigerated foods to a heatedpot.
16. CAUTION: TO REDUCE THERISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK,COOK ONLY IN THE CERAMICPOT PROVIDED OR PLACED
COOKING RACK INSIDE THECERAMIC POT. DO NOT USEMETAL CONTAINERS.
17. CAUTION: A heated ceramicpot may damage countertops ortables. When removing the hotceramic pot from the slowcooker, DO NOT place it directly
on any unprotected surface.Always set the hot pot on atrivet or a rack.
18. To disconnect, press the On/Offbutton, and then remove theplug from the wall outlet.

ASSEMBLYINSTRUCTIONSTo use your Cuisinart Slow Cooker:
1. Carefully unpack the SlowCooker.
2. Rinse the ceramic pot and glasslid in warm, soapy water. Rinsewell and dry thoroughly.
3. Wipe all interior and exteriorsurfaces of the Slow Cookerbase with a soft, damp cloth.

4. Place ceramic pot and rack (ifusing) in the base of the unit.
5. Place the lid on top of theceramic pot.
6. Plug in power cord. Your slowcooker is now ready for use.
OPERATIONYour Cuisinart Slow Cooker cooksfood automatically once you set thetime and the desired cookingmode. When time expires, the unit
automatically switches to the Warmsetting and the Warm indicator lightilluminates. When cooking time andmode are set, the unit will performthose functions until the cookingtime expires or the unit is manuallyturned off.
Cooking WITH the Timer
1. Place the unit on a clean, drycounter.
2. Remove glass lid.
3. Fill ceramic pot with ingredients.
4. Replace lid.
5. Plug in unit. There will be nopower to the slow cooker until it
is turned on.
6. To turn unit on, press On/Offbutton. The slow cooker willbeep once, and the On/Off redindicator light and colon (: ) onthe LCD display will flash.
7. Set the desired cooking time bypushing the + or - button. Thetimer ranges from 00:00 to 24:00hours in 30-minute increments.NOTE: If there is no timer input,
the On/Off and the colon on thereading display will continue toflash.
Press the + button to increasetime in 30-minute increments orpress the - button to decreasetime in 30-minute increments.
Press and hold + or - to scrollautomatically in 30-minute steps.
Press + and - simultaneously toreset to 00:00. Repeat the abovetwo steps to reset time.
After setting time, timer displayand On/Off indicator will stillflash. Please proceed to setting
the cooking mode.8. Setting Cooking Modes
Three cooking modes, Simmer,Low and High, give you theopportunity to prepare a widervariety of dishes. You can adaptmany recipes to slow down thecooking time, or speed it up, to
coordinate meals to yourschedule.You will usually want to use theSimmer or Low setting forrecipes that cook longer. If yourestarting a dish later in the day,select the High setting to ensurethat your food is cooked, warm,
and ready when youd like to eat.

9. To turn the unit off manually,press the On/Off button.
10. Lift ceramic pot carefully,using potholders.
NOTE: The U.S. Department ofAgriculture (USDA) recommendsthat when cooking anythingcontaining meat in a slow cooker,the meat should reach 140F within2 hours. This ensures that the meatwill reach food-safe temperatures inthe proper amount of time.
Cooking WITHOUT the TimerIf no timer is set in conjunction withany cooking setting, the selectedcooking setting of High, Low orSimmer will default to 24-hourcooking time.
1. Place the unit on a clean,dry counter.

5. Plug in unit. There will be nopower to the slow cooker untilit is turned on.
6. To turn unit on, press On/Offbutton. The slow cooker willbeep once, and the On/Offindicator red light and colon (: )on the LCD display will flash.
7. Set the desired cooking modesby pressing High, Low or
Simmer setting. Refer to thecooking table guidelines onpage 6. Once 24-hour defaultcooking time has expired, theunit will beep for 5 secondsthen turn off automatically.
If you choose to use the timer,
please refer to the CookingWith the Timer section andfollow Line 7.
8. When the desired cookingmode is selected, the unit will
beep once, the blue indicatornext to Low, High or Simmerwill illuminate to denote theselected cooking mode, andany flashing light will becomesolid. NOTE: The cookingmode can be overridden bypressing any other mode
buttons.9. Once cooking time has expired,
the unit will automaticallyswitch to the Warm setting. Theblue indicator light next toWarm setting will light andremain on Warm for 8 hoursmaximum (this time can be
adjusted at any time). When theWarm time expires, the unit willbeep for 5 seconds and willturn off automatically.
10. To turn the unit off manually,press the On/Off button.
11. Lift ceramic pot carefully, using
potholders.
CLEANING ANDMAINTENANCEUnplug your Cuisinart Slow Cookerand allow it to cool before cleaning.Place ceramic pot and lid in thedishwasher or wash with warm,
soapy water. If food sticks to thesurface, fill ceramic pot with warm,soapy water and allow to soakbefore cleaning. If scouring isnecessary, use a nonabrasivecleanser or liquid detergent with anylon pad or brush.

California law provides that forIn-Warranty Service, California
residents have the option ofreturning a nonconforming prod-uct (A) to the store where it waspurchased or (B) to another retailstore which sells Cuisinart prod-ucts of the same type.
