Brett Weshner and Jen Harmon > [email protected] June 11 vs. PT Penguins First Home Meet! Check-in: 6:30-6:55 a.m. The check-in table for swimmers and volunteers will be just inside the large gate in the parking lot (between tennis court and building). Any swimmer not checked in by the deadline will be scratched from the meet. Scratch session begins: 7:00 a.m. Barracudas warm-ups: 7:00-7:25 a.m. Meet begins: 8:05 a.m. Family set-up: Saturday ONLY, upon check in at 6:30 a.m. Pop-up tents can only be set up on the back grass area; they are not allowed on the patio or grass around the pool. Only umbrellas/Sportbrellas are allowed around the pool. Cuda families will share the back grass area with the visiting team. Visitors will occupy the half closest to the concrete walkway. uSeasons Café will be selling breakfast and lunch. Message from Coach Brian Saturday’s meet was our second closest meet ever against the Taz! Our team has become stronger over the past four years. This year, the score was EDH 439 – BB 350. Last year, it was EDH 425 – BB 364. In 2012, it was EDH 518 – BB 271. We applaud all of the Cuda swimmers for an outstanding effort and great teamwork. There were 366 improved times: 176 for girls, 145 for boys and 45 for relays. Plus, several records were broken! Congratulations to all…keep it up! Our next meet is against the Park Terrace Penguins. We beat the Penguins in 2014 for the first time in our history (at our pool), so let’s beat this team a second time in the Cuda Zone! Swimmers: when you are not racing, please cheer on your teammates during their races. Team spirit is very important! The coaches are very excited about the rest of the season and how we’re going to do against the other teams and at Champs. In issue #2 of Cuda Zone News, I wrote about goal setting. This is important at the beginning of the season and all the way through to Champs. If you’ve already improved your times or accomplished some early goals, set new ones and work hard to achieve them. Remember that there are time goals, technique goals, strategic goals, mental goals and emotional goals. A reminder to swimmers that you can request to be in certain events – and the coaches will TRY to honor those requests (no guarantees). You can make your request online (in the notes section when you commit) or send an email to the coaches. Tips from the Coaches: Have a Great Work Ethic Be reliable with good attendance at practices and meets. Strive to do your best with hard work and effort. Show consistency in effort from day-to-day. Show dedication and determination. Have a positive attitude. SWIMMER sign-in/out deadline: Friday, June 10 VOLUNTEER sign up deadline: Tuesday, June 14 June 18 @ Sierra Sharks

Our only FUNdraiser is one week away! Help us reach our $12,000 goal!On our website, click on the lane line at the top of the home page for details.

PledgesVisit the Broadstone Barracudas website and click on the lane line at the top of the home page. It is easy to get set up for collecting online donations. You may still turn in money on the night of the Swim-a-Thon, but we strongly suggest the online resource. Make checks payable to Broadstone Barracudas.

All pledge money must be turned in the night of the Swim-a-Thon. We are only doing a flat pledge from friends and family members. We do not use the “per lap” format. It makes it much easier to turn in your pledges that night.

Thank you for your generosity and everything that you do for our children!
