Day 1 Thurs. April 4 Today we will meet in Des Moines at the Airport Holiday Inn for our pre-flight overnight hotel stay. Day 2 Fri. April 5 We transfer to the Des Moines Airport to begin our journey. We will fly to

Miami and proceed to our hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3 Sat. April 6 Our shuttle will pick us up at the hotel and take us to the pier where we will

check in and board Royal Caribbean’s “Empress of the Seas” for our cruise. You will have time

to explore the ship before we attend the 4 pm “sail away” party. (L,D) (gratuities not included

Day 4 Sun. April 7 Enjoy your day at sea and take part in the many onboard activities or just

bask in the Caribbean sun at the pool or relax in the spa. The azure waters of the Caribbean

Day 5 Mon. April 8 Explore Cuba’s former capital city, SANTIAGO DE CUBA, also known as the

“Cradle of the Cuban Revolution”. Monuments will be found all over the city, from Fidel Castro

to Antonio Marco, who led the fight in Cuba’s Wars of Independence. Plan a visit to the Emilio

Bacardi Moreau Museum to uncover the city’s 500 year history in paintings and artifacts or

taste the coffee industry with a visit to a UNESCO World Heritage Site coffee plantation.

Day 6 Tues. April 9 Relax in the sun or take advantage of all the ship has to offer as we cruise

further south in the warm Caribbean waters to our next city dubbed La Perla del Sur (Pearl of

Day 7 Wed. April 10 CIENFUEGOS was settled in 1819, Cienfuegos means “100

Fires” and is one of Cuba’s most well preserved cities. The city has

a French influence with more than 300 neoclassical buildings, graceful

fountains, and colonnades. The city has earned a place as an UNESCO
