Metalcenter group is a joint-venture of Alumeco (Scandinavia’ largest

Aluminium wholeseller) and KME (the world’s largest copper manufac-

turer). Metalcenter was founded in 2009 – and by 2012 we are one of

the largest red-metal wholesellers in North Europe.

Metalcenter is completely integrated with Alumeco – with joint stocks

& local logistic centers in all Scandinavian and East-Central Europe and

joint administration, IT, accounting, quality, production, logistic and

marketing.

Metalcenter is Scandinavian-based – with 4 metal stocks in Denmark,

Sweden, Finland – but also has stock-setup in Germany, and even US

and China through our group partners.

SHORT ABOUT

COPPER, BRASS & BRONZECopper (Cu) is one of the most used raw materials. It is durable and easy to

shape. And copper is a raw material, which conducts heat and electricity easily.

About 2/3 of all copper in the world is used for cables and electronics. That is,

for example, electric motors, refrigerators, TV, mobile telephones and computers.

Copper has been produced in large quantities for the last 100 years. It was only,

when the use of electricity became widespread throughout the world, that there

was a demand for electrical cables and connectors. People were using copper to

make jewellery as early as 5-6000 years ago.

By mixing zink into the copper Brass (CuZn..) is made. Between 1/4 and 1/3 of

all copper is used to make brass. Brass is harder and stronger than copper – and

it is cheaper.

Later, they discovered how to make tools and weapons by melting copper

together with tin. By doing this, they made bronze. Bronze (CuSn..) contains

about 90% copper and 10% tin.

In modern industry – copper is widely used. Metalcenter group supplies copper,

brass and bronze to a wide range of industrial & bulding applications – and

customized red-metal products into wind turbine especially.

brass and bronze. We have in-depth metal knowhow

and more than 200 years of red metal experience in the

organization.

Our goal is to be able to offer our customers all skills

needed for this particular material. The result is an ex-

tensive internal knowledge base and experience with all

aspects of red metals. We have a large-scale, international

interface with copper manufacturers and specialists who

contribute solutions and valuable knowledge. Copper is

demanding in terms of handling, transportation, packag-

ing and storage. As red metal specialists, we have put in

place a setup to match these demands – with the right

flow of goods from manufacturer to customer.

Furthermore, Metalcenter can book metal directly on

the LME metal exchange – with option to book on daily,

monthly average, fixed metal price for a certain period or

hedging of metal – whereas metal price fluctuation risks

can be reduced.

a large number of copper manufacturers in Europe and in

the Far East, where we have our own procurement office.

We only work with manufacturers who have demonstrat-

ed – by means of reliable, accurate deliveries to Metal-

center – that they are capable of delivering the quality

demanded by Scandinavian customers.

We have a considerable purchase volume with key

manufacturers and you can benefit from this in the form

of attractive pricing and terms of supply. We also handle

quality inspection, freight, imports, containers and buffer

stock. In other words, all the relevant tasks involved from

the moment you place the order until it is delivered to your

door. Metalcenter has its own production department and

a large network of external suppliers whom we use for

tasks that are not suitable for outsourcing.
