    CT6MAJAN Term 01 Animation Review/Analysis

For this terms project, I created a promotional animation for the

    charity/campaign: NOH8.

The campaign itself features various celebrities photographed with their mouths

taped, this is to illustrate the lack of free speech and equality in an etremefashion!

I wanted to aim this project at children "# years and under to help inspire

children to be con$dent with their own personalities and interests! %owever, I

initially eperimented with various character designs for adults, I also considered

making my animation visually inspired by Visual Novels, but decided to not use

    this idea!

To achieve this, I created a simple, cartoon art style inspired by videogames such

as: Paper Mario, Kirbys Epic Yarnand Yoshis Wooly World. I also shaded the

assets in a crayon&esque style to help the art style relate more to children!

This also helped the animation 'ow nicely, as assets were constantly moving,

helping to keep the attention of the audience!

I wanted to use this project to help re&familiari(e myself withAdobe A!er E"ec!s,

as well as learn new techniques that could help bene$t my animations in my

    other units!

)ersonally, I feel that my strength lies in illustration, so instead of creating

    animations using #radi!ional $el Ani%a!iontechniques, I decided to utili(e my

strengths by illustrating individual images using *dobe )hotoshop, and then

transferring them as assets forAdobe A!er E"ec!s.

+hile I did enjoy making this animation, I didnt get to implement all of my ideas

    into the project!

Initially, I wanted to have multiple characters to help illustrate the movement to

multiple ethnicities and genders, but due to the lack of time and late planning, I

could only implement a singular character!

I also had to alter some assets through development so that the animation could

work in a coherent fashion! This was di-cult in some cases, as I had some

trouble managing my asset libraries inAdobe A!er E"ec!s.

.astly, I treated sound eects as an afterthought, and struggled to $nd andcreate appropriate sound eects to be implemented into the animation! 0et

time, this would need to be addressed by possibly planning what sounds would

    be required for the project!

1verall, I am pleased with how this project has turned out, and would like to

implement what I have learnt for other projects such as this!
