The industrial zone of the Molí de les Planes estate is located in what is known as the Tordera corridor, named after the river located there. This setting brings together formidable, industrial growth in a natural, wellpreserved and protected environment. The aforementioned growth is mainly due to two key elements that coincide simultaneously.
They also inspired the early establishment of the industry in this area in the seventies: its privileged location on the communications network (50 km from Barcelona and Girona and 115 km from the border of France).
The Delta Tecnic facilities are located on the edge of the industrial estate, bordered by the Tordera River, which naturally separates the industrial zone from the motorway, which in turn, also separates it from the Montnegre – Corredor National Park from a southerly direction.
The Montseny National Park is located to the north of Sant Celoni, declared a Biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 1978. Montseny is a mosaic of Mediterranean and Central European landscapes which boast an extraordinary level of biodiversity.

Integratedmanagement system
Delta Tecnic has an Integrated System
available to manage quality, occupational
risk prevention and the environment. The
System draws strength from its unified nature
because all of its functions and objectives
form part of the mission of each department,
as well as that of the Management. The latter
also includes the integrated planning and
monitoring indicators for all of the areas and
acts as a basis upon which System reviews
and decision-making can be carried out.
The Management System was certified
under the ISO 9001 standard in 1998 and
the 14001 standard in 2005. Delta Tecnic
has also been registered in the prestigious
EMAS Eco-Management and Audit System
since 1999, adding value through staff
participation and involvement, thus giving
this integrated management system greater
momentum and transparency.

Waste Management
The industrial waste generated by Delta
Tecnic is the result of our own design and
manufacturing processes for the products.
Through our environmental management
system, which has been in place since 1998,
we have gradually increased the amount of
waste that is selectively collected, valuing as
much of the waste as possible, and treating
nonvaluable waste correctly by having it
taken away by authorised operators.
We currently collect and manage the
following types of waste:
· Empty raw material containers
· Cardboard
· Ordinary waste
· Wood
· Plastic
· Printer toners and cartridges
· Florescent tubes
· Batteries
· Solvents
· Scrap metal
· Mineral oils
· Paint pots
· Electrical and electronic waste
Best practices in energy efficiency
Delta Tecnic has put measures in place to
avoid the unnecessary consumption of water
and electricity such as: closed refrigeration
systems, dual flush cisterns, programmable
lights, motionsensor lights, replacing lights
with LEDs, taking advantage of natural light
using solotubes and windows, etc.
The water supplied to Delta Tecnic is solely
and exclusively for sanitary purposes. The
supply comes from the municipal water
distribution network and its subsequent
disposal is the public sewer and the wastewater
treatment plant in Sant Celoni.
The Quality, Environment and Prevention
Commission proposes that staff apply good
practices in the responsible use of this scarce
resource. Thus, through simple advice, the
whole workforce is motivated to reduce water
consumption to that which is strictly necessary.

Electricity
At Delta Tecnic, energy is consumed for the following activities: · Lighting in offices and warehouses · Computers and printers · Air-conditioning systems · Forklift trucks · Appliances in the office dining room · Electric heater.
Good practices in regards to energy efficiency are communicated and training is provided frequently in our company’s internal campaigns and newsletters. In this way, we advise our staff to apply the best practices for the responsible use of energy.
Between 2006 and 2012, Delta Tecnic set objectives aimed at reducing the energy consumption used for lighting and airconditioning, and continued following this policy throughout 2018.
· Progressive installation of monitors powered by electronic ballast in commercial offices.
· Installation of outer film on all commercial office Windows to block solar rays and reduce heat los.
· Installation of class “A” Split air Conditioning units.
· Raising awareness among staff through specific training.
In the following graph, a slight downward trend in the consumption of electrical energy can be observed since 2008.
CO2 Emisions
As a result of electricity produced from
different primary sources, Delta Tecnic’s
contribution to climate change is displayed
in the following table:
We are proceeding with internal
awarenessraising campaigns and offsetting
out carbon footprint by using ink free paper
with a weight of 75 grams/m2 (previously 80
grams/m2).
In addition, as a direct consequence of fuel
consumption for vehicles belonging to the
Commercial Department, CO2 emissions are
generated as a direct environmental aspect,
which we will continue to monitor over the
coming years.

Atmospheric Pollution
Periodic maintenance of the air conditioning
units is also carried out to ensure their proper
functioning and any potential refrigerant gas
leaks.
Every day, the refrigeration systems at Delta
Tecnic are monitored and the necessary
maintenance, cleaning, disinfection and
inspection are carried out to ensure the
absence of legionella.
Other Emissions
We would also like to highlight other
preventative measures in relation to
atmospheric pollution. In order to ensure
that refrigerant gases do not leak from the
units, especially those containing R22, we
carry out biannual revisions on these units.
Throughout 2018 and after carrying out the
corresponding inspections, we can confirm
that no gas leaks occurred.
We have calculated the total charge of
fluorinated gases (tonnes of CO2) for the
areas of the company.

CSR ActionParticipationand communication
Remember that these incentives do not come under the pretence of having financial rewards, rather they are for professional recognition and motivation. It is an honour for the Quality, Environment and Prevention Committee to receive these proposals.
Staff involvement and internal communication
One of Delta Tecnic’s strengths is the involvement of all staff
in the integrated management system for Quality,
Environment and Risk Prevention.
It is policy within Delta Tecnic to foster internal communication
both in terms of Management communicating with staff, and
vice versa. The cooperation of our employees is essential for
the maintenance of our management systems.
Throughout the year, all of the improvement proposals and
suggestions related to work processes or environmental
improvements and prevention that our employees send to
Management are collected and logged. These proposals are
presented to the Quality, Environment and Prevention
Commission, made up of managers from all of the areas, on a
monthly basis. The proposals are then approved or rejected
and a member of staff is put in charge of implementing them.
At the end of the year, the Quality, Environment and
Prevention Committee votes for and awards a prize to the
proposal that they consider the best.

Awards for the best proposals 2018
Our employees provide data and information
that are registered and controlled for their
management and subsequent revision of
the system. They also actively participate in
applying best practices with regards to
consumption, waste management, etc.
Since 2003, Delta Tecnic has published an
internal newsletter in which information to
raise awareness about the environment is
published for its employees (among other
topics), as part of coordinating the EMS.
External Communication
Delta Tecnic seeks informative transparency
towards its suppliers, clients, employees and
the community. The present Environmental
Statement is a sample of how we communicate
in this sense.
Our organisation is open to collaboration with
the community in those aspects that benefit
society and the environment. An example of
this is our repeated collaboration with the Sant
Celoni Council to analyse opportunities to
improve the environmental situation of the
Molí de les Planes industrial estate. For this
reason, in 2013, the group of companies here,
in addition to 6 others, founded the Molí de la
Planes Companies Association which sets
objectives for the improvement of the industrial
estate and that, together with the Council,
holds work meetings to monitor compliance.
We are currently working to improve the
cleaning and conservation of the industrial
estate, improving pedestrian and vehicle
access, signposting, fibre optic access,
enhancing security, improving lighting and
creating a green point for small companies.
