Darkness plundered over the horizon, white diamonds glittered across the morning's sky. The

trees were still, Impenitently frozen, only a sweet breeze blew slightly east as the fireball arose to greetHuntsville. Birds sang their normal song and crickets began to settle and decease. As light bloomed

across the valley of Willow trees. Algid clouds attained the sun's morning glory as blackness slumped

over the city. The sunlight could not reach the earth, desolating humanity that flourished in thecommunity of Huntsville Alabama. Rebellious southern state was deep into its winter, the leaves

orange and dull hung without life. Rivers flowing like mirror glass, streamed transversely under

Johnson Rd and running into Braham Springs . But the park was dead today, children stayed inside todrink coco and watched their cartoons because of such an outburst of fresh snow. Freshly packed ice

twinkled above the surface of the barren land. The kids couldn't believe what they were witnessing. Not

even throwing on heavy coats, the children ran out once they saw their porch of speckled ice crystals

flourish spectacularly. Children were consumed with happiness as the icy precipitation took their breathaway. "I wish it could be like this forever'! The young girls and boys said when jumping into the white

stuff.Though even social life was seemingly joyful along the borders of Rocket

city. For the Andersen's family, a different story had begun.A fairly large house outside of Huntsville town was red brick

accommodation, with green grass cut only an inch high (Today covered in snow).Eight windows viewed from the front, and the back were the same. Lara lived in aChristian neighborhood, and grew up to be at heart-loving preacher for the allmighty father. Her husband was even a favor of doing Jehovah's word. Lara wassimple, and an out going mother who visited the church daily. She was an ownerof the Holy Unitedand preached every nine am to reduce the sins of other people. But her husband was a lazy bum a super visor of the families business. Ownerof the construction company that began in Birmingham Alabama handed down tohim. Yet as it shows throughout history even the brightest, tallest and strongestmen are not all perfect men. Robert was a hard worker but he did not meet thestandards of managing and assembling the job. Now his lazy work has caught upwith the family, and his dad's own company was being flushed down the drain. Atough time for the Andersen's was about to get worse. I cant tell you that thisstory does not embark on her life in church or how their life ends in the dumpsbecause of the job. It commences in her bedroom where she ends her glamorousdream awaking to a Grey, Grey morning.

Lara a morning person, keeps her special routine, she fetches the paper toread today's news and to embrace the sun's gripping electrifying rays. (This dayon January 1st would have her in shambles, disoriented and her heartbroken thefaith would be in pieces but she does not know that...yet). The air is still and thefrost is bright. Lara awoke. Slowly she sits up from her gargantuan flower bed nottrying to making a peep, her husband lay untouched and at peace. He madecroaking sounds as if to vomit out his sable nightmares that caused him to coughhoarsely. She smiled at him. To know she was protected by any hash lashing eldesperado who threatens the family. She sits up in a sluggish manner as if shewas intoxicated, her chest, and head swung slowly side to side. Painstakingly Larapushed layers off the bed and stood on the heels of her feet. Creaking soundstransverses through the hollow wooden floors.

Emotions and stress kept her mind awake. Her heart was overturned bytormenting images played through out her head. God told her she should look forguidance. She knelt down, her knees bumping the oak wood floor, feeling theunpleasing arctic ice touch the skin. Her nerves blasting quickly up sendingsignals to her brain that the floor was undesirably cold. Lara tried her best to keepquiet not to awake her husband or as Lara referred to him as her "Stalin". A

picture displayed on the wall in front of her, a painting of Jesus as he laid out hishands, as if saying "all are welcome". She prayed. Some say it is wrong to pray tostatues or pictures but to her seeing was believing. Her stomach screeched withpain. No she wasn't going to exert her food remains from last night's supper, shehad other plans to express how worried her heart was. "To pray was anexceptional answer".

"Today lord I awake with pain in my neck?". She claims when trouble maybe ahead. Lara whispers calmly. Soon a cold breeze sweeps in, entering from thespace under the glass window. The dampness pours in like a ghostly brisk offreezing air and engulfs her body, it opened its mouth eating the heat on theflesh. Lara shivers but her hands warm her. The married women starts her speech

again, after recovering from the fortuitous inference. "A little cough would doaway with it and soon I can begin again," she thought to herself. Wiggling aroundshe closed her eyes and cleared her throat. Today lord I have awoken with astriking pain in my neck, and as you know as well as I do this means anunpredictable evil may corrupt us, not only my life but also my loving husband's.

She teared up, the pours in her face began to sweat, laying her foreheaddown on comfortably soft surface.

A flower blanket knitted by granny crafted on Lara's birth date was so softand soothing. Lara started again, I know at this very hour you will keep theAndersen family safe, in your loving arms. Please Jehovah! I beg and beg that youkeep my son Danny unharmed in your arms. He is only a young imbecile boy who

is just finding his way through the enchanted forest, keep him apprehensive of hissurroundings its a dangerous world Jehovah, keep him under your gracious wingLord". She pressed on attentively, she was gripping her phalanges togetherkeeping close to the bed. A crater was forming from the top of the bed wherepraying was taking place. She began pondering, just for a quiet moment taking arest from being so serious. Her mind expanded as wide as the galaxy. Thinking ofDanny's beautiful eyes and glamorous smile. Lara was questioning of why thismorning was a so important, what caused her feeling so insecure? Lara positionedherself to ease the worsening pain in the spinal chord, (Bending violently for anamount of time inflamed through out the soft tissue body). She clamped herfingers down hard to praise the all mighty father. lord I hope for the best and

thank you for everything you have given me.She stated all of her desires and soon ended as Lara started to open her

eyes, she saw something most exhilarating and delightful that jolted her heartbeat ten times faster. A white dove was watching her from the bedroom windowsitting and chirping on a willow tree branch. The house wife assumed she was safeand secure. Even to state her son was too.

Lara got up quietly as loud creaking sounds took place on the cold winterfloor, she walked out her bedroom slowly closing the door. She was silent as amouse creeping to the dining room, she passed by Chris's "layer",a sure mess it

was. Clothes piled high as Everest lying in crumpled stacks of shirts and jeans, lying next to his large bed. The place looked like a dumpster, candy wrappers stillwith the remnants of chocolate stuck to shirts. Soda bottles (still somewhat full)lay by him. Chris was lying on the bed looking as though he was in a severe coma, his right arm laid over the bed; did I mention he still was wearing the jeans hewore outside just yesterday and a t-shirt covered with taco sauce? His mouth lay

wide open, waterfalls of spit rained down his chin like Niagara falls. Lara rolled hereyes and crossed her arms. She almost said something but knew it would turn intoa dramatic argument.

Moving on into the kitchen, she saw something in the corner of her eye. Alarge orange white striped cat jumping off the table.

"Tigger you know your not supposed to be on the table". She said withsweetness and forgiveness in her voice. The feline began rubbing against herankle to service her master but then zoomed off as Lara tried to pick her up.Tigger! She cried, but knew the cat would not listen to the commands. Theexotic creature was a princess and was the owner of the house. It was a ridiculousanimal that should be put into its place.

Lara caught the clock in the nick of time. It was rounded shape time-tellerread quarter pass eight. Inside the clock were handles with brown dog paws. Thegoofy pup smiled pointing out each number with a tick ticking sound on eachnumeral.

She got the pot ready for the morning's coffee to engage quality time forherself. A creation of seed burning was going quite smoothly (Based on hersurroundings of silence). Organic compounds intersecting with the beans andMyrrh was brewing, she had started a new batch. It is a concoction she createdand very much enjoyed. Sipping the cup of coffee calmly, the smell engulfed hernose, smooth and sweet just how she perfected it to be.

The paper! She had forgotten all about the newspaper, what could her

glorious morning be without the news? She was in determination to go off into thecool damp yard and find the rolled up news lying in a circular type position.Though her plans were calculated wrong as an arrival of unwelcoming surpriseinterfered. Lara herd a car rolling into the drive way, a much familiar vehicle shehas seen many times. Before they could knock on the door she was their, eyesconsumed with fear. The two young men tell her the news instead.

She falls to the floor screaming.

Preview two:That cracker must had ripped me off, I should of went down the

highway just a little more but NO the fire place seemed quite exquisite. Thomas

thought. Brett it said on his name tag; odd name for a white southerner. Smilingat me when I walked in complimenting my checkered black and blue tie(but Iknew it was goofy).

Aw yes here's a man with great fortune, leaning in closer his old chininched further outwards. must not be from around here? He chuckles and yetThomas laughs, just to make the conversation seem more alight. But every conuses that catchphrase it wouldn't work on Tom he was to good not to beblackmailed.

Somehow he did it. The manager acted as though he was on hyper drive

moving at fast rate directing his hands twirling around like a drummer., sayingYes, yes we have all that you need here, for you a glamorous balcony, aprofoundly jubilant bed room and a Jah-coozie for the ladies. Laughing and razinghis eye brows simultaneously. You will love it here.

His smile was displeasing, Tom could see a lie behind it. If only Thomas hadknown his sinister plan to discriminate Tom, he would have gave him a one or two.

Yeah, right in the jaw Tom whispered to himself. What was that? Brett asked.Uh nothing. The elder man chuckled, Oh yes, yes of course, nothing at all.He began babbling about jaw breakers, as if some how he had heard Tom

through those bushy ears, but Thomas drifted off into space as he kept his eyeson the wall behind Brett. A spider caught Tom's eye behind him as he talked withspeed of a women. As if he knew what exactly what Tom was looking at Brettmoved his head over to cover Thomas's vision from behind him. They played catand mouse while Tom tried to measure how long the eight-legged freak was.Laying there silently on the wall as if to come up with a sinister plan to scare Tom

in the bathroom sink. That son of bitch. It was quite big, brown and scary, it wastrying to hide from the mid westerns wind chills, that cut through your skin andmade your ears stiff as a sheet of metal. The harry thing zoomed up the wall notstopping, it sneaking into a air vent and vanished from Thomas's eyes.

What are you staring at? Brett said wheeling around his head.Do you guys have pest in here? Tom asked nervously.Pest?Yes, creatures that go bump in that night, the kind with hairs on its

exoskeleton that creep around on the dark corners of the ceiling.Oh yes. He thumped his thumb on his chin to play a remedy or he must

had thought it would make a beat. We do have some, but every hotel has some

type of pest, you cant get away from cockroaches though. Their little vermin thatjust wont die. I mean you could tare it into pieces and the little shit still lives andyou end up laughing over the matter because some how they're still around. Wewaste millions of dollars to get rid of these bastards, yet they come back innumbers, it's like come on, what the hell I swear I just stomped your ass tenminutes ago.

He laughed, yet he laughed with a fear in the chuckle and twinged his eyesback and forth to make sure no one else could be hearing what a filthy mouth hehad. The man in the usual clean brown suit was at risk for any visitors whothought it was shrewd to have such violent dialect.

So what's wrong with a little spiders running around? Daddy-long legs

never hurt no body. Brett said now looking disgusted by Tom's actions of beingconcerned.

Tom didn't agree or disagree he was done with the subject and moving oninto something else that was more of an importance.

Cost, how much will it be?Oh, yes the cost- right. He looked through the pile of papers that were in

shambles on the counter. He held the paper high in the air, the florescent shineseeped through the white paper that held combination of words and lines runningfrom the top to the bottom.

With his left hand he placed a pair of black set of glasses that laid pleasantlyon his nose. The spectacles almost slipped off the edge but just in the nick of timehe caught them and returned them to the proper area. He hummed a song anelder folk would sing during the early 40's. He was cautious not to miss what hewas looking for reading every word for word. Soon pondering for a moment ortwo; his head poked around a small lantern so that his green eyes caught mine.

The date? he questioned, constantly as if Tom was death.January tenth 2006. Thomas said assertively. The man repeated what he had just herd and wrote it down. Then looking up

and squinting his small big eyes he seemed to be searching for something. Hemumbled aloud and tapping his pen like the little drummer boy, he would watchon television on Christmas eve.

It felt like hours before Thomas finally unclogged his throat. Its eleven passed five... sir.Huh, what is it?Tom reversed what he just said but a notch louder then before. The old man reacted with a questionable look. I'm not a prehistoric

dinosaur, you don't have to squawk like a crow!Tom just rolled his eyes.So the price for two nights, is 120 dollars, plus tax of course, and utilities

like the bath and sink, also the pool will be extra because its not bad for a nicedip. He saw the look on Thomas's face and finally stated. Its in our policy, sorry.Brett said grinning.

For one thing I'm not staying for one night and second its winter and Iwould never swim in a pool full of ice, this is ridiculous! Tom said now bloominglike a fire hot pepper.

Look, you can go up twenty miles north in this blizzard and rot on thehighway, and when you get stuck in a ditch. Crying for God to rewind back to this

point in time. Wishing you had chosen a place with a comfortable bed, includingcontemporary wool rugs, which are mighty fine for a place like this, and let me notforget a relaxing jacuzzi that will suit you quite nicely. So what will it be Mr.Thomas? Ditch or hotel? Coffee, or no coffee?

I don't drink coffee. Tom said grinding his teeth. The man just grunted, what a shame, for a fellow like you all muddy and

looking terribly stress you look like you need a cigaret more then coffee, to behonest.

You have no idea what I've been through. Tom said shivering.Ah, I see. The old man seem to be looking again for something, then he

stopped and looked up at Tom letting out a deep breath. That will be one

hundred and twenty dollars and eighty nine cents...sir.
