Kun moottori onkynnistynyt, pst SET -painike irti.Paina ON/OFF -painiketta kerran. Ohjausyksikn LED syttyy palamaan. MAGIC-SPEED on nyt diagnoosimuodossa.

    Pid SET -painiketta painettuna.Moottorin kierrosluvun tytyynousta hitaasti (huomio, lanna moottoria kydylikierroksilla). Heti kun SET -painike pstetn irti, onpidettv siihen asti saavutettumoottorin kierrosluku vakaana.

    4. Aja n. 80 km/h ja aktivoi nopeudensdin. Kun tm on alkanut toimia,kytke nopeudensdin pois plt jarruttamalla tai kyttmll OFF -kytkint. Aseta sen jlkeen OFF -kytkin taas asentoon ON. Vhennnyt nopeus n. 60 km:iin/h. Paina nyt RES -kytkint janopeudenstimen tulisi hitaasti kiihdytt aiemmin asetettuun 80km:iin/h.

    5. Ajaessasi nopeudenstimen kanssa paina kytkin poljinta. Kytkimenkatkaisija kytkee nopeudenstimen pois plt. Muussa tapauksessa

    Kaikki MAGICSPEED asennukseen tarvittavat tyt ovat pttyneet ja akkuon jlleen kytketty.Suorita testit jrjestyksess testi A ja sen jlkeen testi B.

    15.0 KOEAJO JA SDT

    Nopeudensdin on jo esisdetty tehtaalla. Kun nopeudensdin onasianmukaisesti asennettu, sen pitisi toimia useimmissa ajoneuvoissatyydyttvsti. Saadaksesi selville, onko lisst tarpeen, lhde koeajolleseuraavasti:

    1. Kytke MAGICSPEED plle koskettamalla ON/OFF -kytkint kerranlyhyesti. LED syttyy palamaan.

    2. Paina SET -painiketta ja kiihdyt kaasupolkimella hitaasti 40 km:sta/h50 km:iin/h. Nopeudenstimen tulisi toimia 40 ja 50 km/h vlill. Tmon vhimmiskyttnopeus. Tllin ohjauslaitteen LED vilkkuu n. kerransekunnissa. Jos nopeudensdin ei toimi 40 ja 50 km/h vlill, vaanvasta myhemmin, on asennettava lis magneetteja. Josnopeudensdin alkaa toimia jo alle 40 km/h, mutta ei toimi en 80-120km/h nopeudella ja ohjauslaitteen LED vilkkuu nopeammin kuin kerransekunnissa, on katkaistava elektroniikkamoduulin mustat lankasilmukat.Tll tavalla muutat pulssiluvun 1.250 pulsseista/km 8.000 pulssiin/km.

    3. Kiihdyt ajoneuvosi 80 km:iin/h. Paina nyt SET -painiketta ja nostahitaasti jalka kaasupolkimelta. Nopeudenstimen tulisi toimiajoustavasti ja pit ajoneuvon nopeus tasaisena.

    - Jos ajoneuvon nopeus laskee, kun nopeudensdin on kytss, taireagoi liian hitaasti, nosta herkkyyden st tyntmllelektroniikkamoduulin kytkin asentoon H = suuri herkkyys(katso luku 4). Kytke sit ennen sytytys pois plt ja paina lyhyestijarrua, jotta elektroniikkamoduulin muisti tyhjennetn.

    - Jos ajoneuvon nopeus nousee, kun nopeudensdin on kytss, taitoimii liian nykivsti, vhenn herkkyyden st tyntmllelektroniikkamoduulin kytkin asentoon L = alhainen herkkyys(katso luku 4). Kytke sit ennen sytytys pois plt ja paina lyhyestijarrua, jotta elektroniikkamoduulin muisti tyhjennetn.

    14.0 TURVAOHJEET

    Nopeudensdin voidaan kytke pois plt seuraavasti:

    a) painamalla jarrupoljintab) painamalla kytkintc) koskettamalla ON7OFF -kytkint kerran lyhyestid) vhentmll ajonopeutta n. 25 % tallennetusta nopeudestae) kytkemll sytytys pois plt

    Nopeudensdin kytkeytyy itsestn pois plt, jos shkliitnnt ovatkatkenneet tai jos jarruvalo on viallinen. Elektroninen moduuli jatyhjiservolaite sisltvt lukuisia turvaominaisuuksia varmistukseksi. Josyhden tai useamman osan toiminta lakkautuisi, kytkeytyy nopeudensdinautomaattisesti pois plt.

    Turvallisen ja taloudellisen kytn takaamiseksi,L KOSKAAN: aktivoi MAGICSPEEDi- ruuhkaliikenteess- mrll tai liukkaalla (jisell) tiell!

    MAGIC SPEED -NOPEUDENSTIMEN KYTT

    KIIHDYTTMINEN JA HIDASTAMINEN:

    Kun nopeudensdin on aktivoitu, on hienoviritys viel mahdollista. Kunkosketat SET -painiketta kerran lyhyesti, nousee nopeus n. 1 km/hverran. Kun kosketat RES -painiketta kerran lyhyesti, nopeus laskee n. 1km/h verran. Tm toiminto antaa mahdollisuuden mukauttaa ajoneuvositarkasti liikenteeseen tai nopeudenrajoitukseen. Nopeussdin onvarustettu muistilla, joka tallentaa kosketusten mrn. Esimerkiksi: Kunpainat SET - tai RES -painiketta 3 x tai 5 x, nopeudensdin nostaa tailaskee ajoneuvosi nopeutta n. 3 tai 5 km/h verran.

    TRKE: Kun haluat laskea asetettua nopeuttahuomattavasti, l kyt RES -painiketta. Kytsen sijasta OFF -painiketta, jarrua tai kytkint, jaaseta sitten SET -painikkeella taas uusi nopeutesi.

    13.0 ENSIMMINEN KYTTNOTTO JA TOIMINTATARKASTUS

    Elektroniikkamoduuli on varustettu diagnoosiohjelmalla, joten ennenensimmist koeajoa on tarkastettava kaikki toiminnot ja shkliitnnt.(katso luku 16 Testi A ja testi B).

    Nyttn toimi elektroniikkamoduulin LED. Kytnnn testi (koeajo) voidaansuorittaa parhaiten vhn liikennidyll tiell.

    Nopeussdint ei voi tarkasti testata, kun ajoneuvo on aluspukkien taikoetustelineenpll, koska massan hitauden vaikutus puuttuu.

    12.0 MAGIC SPEED -NOPEUDENSTIMEN KYTT(KATSO K 3)

    ON/OFF-kytkin:

    Koskettamalla ON/OFF -kytkint kerrankytketn MAGIC-SPEED plle. LED syttyy palamaan.

    Kun MAGIC SPEED on kytketty plle, se kytketn pois pltkoskettamalla ON/OFF -kytkint uudelleen. LED sammuu.

    SET-PAINIKE:

    1. Ajankohtainen nopeus asetetaan painamalla SET (asetus) -painiketta ja pstmll painike taas heti irti. Tm toivenopeuspidetn yll kunnes

    a) painetaan jarrupoljinta tai kytkint,b) laite kytketn pois plt ON/OFF -kytkimell (LED sammuu)c) ajoneuvon nopeus laskee alle 40-50 km/hd) alamess nopeus laskee yli 25 %

    2. Kun SET -painiketta painetaan jatkuvasti, ajoneuvon nopeus kiihtyy.Kun painike pstetn irti, pit nopeudensdin yll siihenmenness saavutettua nopeutta ja tallentaa sen.

    RES-PAINIKE

    Viimeksi tallennetun nopeuden kyttminen painamalla RES -painiketta japstmll painike heti taas irti, edellytten ett:

    a) laite on kytketty plle ON/OFF -kytkimell(ohjausyksikn pll oleva LED palaa)

    b) ajoneuvon nopeus ei ole alle 40-50 km/h (vhimmisnopeus)c) jarrupoljinta tai kytkint ei ole painettud) sytytyst ei ole vliaikaisesti kytketty pois plte) ajankohtainen nopeus ei ole alle 50 % tallennetusta arvosta.

    15. Suojattu 2-napainen kaapeli (sininen ja musta kaapeli) viedn nytasennuslaudan lpiviennist anturikmin (B 21) kahteen liitoskohtaan(napaisuutta ei tarvitse ottaa huomioon).

    16. Kaapeli kiinnitetn kaapelisiteell (B 13) siten, ett ajoneuvon pyrivttai kuumentuvat osat eivt voi koskettaa kaapeleita.

    17. Poista aluspukit ja tunkki.

    Nopeusanturin asennus vetopyrvedossa

    1. Asenna anturit vasemmalle tai oikealle kyttpuolelle. Esimerkit ovatlydettviss kohdista J 3 ja J 4

    VARO! l koskaan kyt tunkkia yksin! Monet tapaturmatjohtuvat tunkilta alas luiskahtaneista ajoneuvoista.Ennen kuin tyskentelet ajoneuvon alla, varmistaajoneuvo lisksi aluspukeilla.

    2. Ajoneuvon sivu, johon aiotaan kiinnitt anturit, nostetaan tunkilla ylsja pyr irrotetaan asennuksen helpottamiseksi.

    3. Kiinnit nopeusanturin pidike (B 26) olemassa olevalla ruuvillavaihteistolaatikkoon siten, ett magneettien asennuskohdan ja anturinvliin j n. 3 - 5 mm (katso K 1).

    4. Asenna kmi (B 21) pidikkeen (B26) plle. Valitse kiinnitysreik(katso K 2) asennusolosuhteiden mukaisesti. Kyt asennukseenmutteria (B 23) ja hammaslevy (B 22) (katso K 2).

    5. Jatka asennusvaiheilla 8 - 17(Nopeusanturin asennus kardaaniakseliin).

    5. Asenna nopeusanturi (B 21) pidikkeeseen(B 26) (katso I 2). Kyt sit reik, joka soveltuu parhaiten thntarkoitukseen. Nopeusanturin liitntjen tytyy osoittaa ylspin. Kytmutteria (B 23) ja hammaslevy (B 22).

    Ksivaihteistolla varustetuissa ajoneuvoissa on asennettava kytkimenkatkaisija (B 5). Kytkimen katkaisija (B 5) koostuu magneettista jakielikosketinkatkaisijasta.     1.0 INTRODUCTION

    The MS 50 cruise control automatically controls the speed of your vehicle.The selected speed can be maintained over long distances (for instance inspeed-restricted areas or on long highway journeys), which enables thedriver to concentrate better on the traffic.

    The MS 50 can be installed in nearly all vehicles with 12 volt electrics,regardless of whether it has manual or automatic transmission.

    The delivery kit includes all the mechanical and electrical componentsneeded for installation in a vehicle.

    MAGIC SPEED

    MAGIC SPEED, the automatic cruise control enables you to always drivejust as fast you want. But never faster than allowed.As soon as you have reached the desired speed, then you enter it in amicrocomputer by the touch of a button. The microcomputer constantlycompares the actual speed with the setting. Any deviation is automaticallycorrected.These instructions contain all the explanations and information needed toinstall MAGIC SPEED. Therefore please read them carefully beforebeginning with installation.Installing MAGIC SPEED requires a general knowledge of motor vehicletechnology and must be executed very carefully because in some areasthe vehicle safety may be affected, for instance at the connection of thethrottle lever to the throttle control mechanism or the control lever ofdiesel pumps.

    3.0 GENERAL SAFETY AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

    Warning! Due to risk of short circuits, always disconnect thenegative pole of the battery before starting work.In the case of vehicles with a supplementary battery, alsodisconnect this negative pole.

    Warning! Improper cable connections may result in short circuitswhich can cause:

    - cable fires- triggering of the airbag- damage to electronic control equipment- failure of electrical functions

    (blinkers, brake lights, horn, ignition, lights).

    Please note the following:

    For working on the cables, the following terminal designations are used:30 (input from battery plus direct)15 (switched plus, behind battery)31 (return cable from battery, neutral)

    Use only insulated cable brackets, connector plugs and tabs. Do not usecrimp connections (cable connectors) or lustre terminals. The securest formof connection is by soldering the cable ends and then insulating theconnection.For connecting the cables use crimping pliers

    For cable connections to 31 (earth):

    Attach the cable with a bracket and toothed washer to an earthing screwon the vehicle or screw it onto the metalwork of the vehicle using abracket, metal screw and toothed washer.

    Always ensure a good earthing connection!Caution! When disconnecting the negative pole of the battery, allthe volatile memories of the convenience electronics lose theirstored data.

    Information on the adjustment can be read in the respective operatinginstructions.

    Warning! The components of the MAGIC SPEED MS 50 which areinside the vehicle must be securely fixed so that they cannot comeloose and injure the vehicles occupants under any circumstances(emergency braking, traffic accident).

    Caution! Never install within the operation area of airbags.

    Caution! To check the voltage in electric cables, use only a diodetest lamp or a voltmeter. Test lamps which light up take too muchcurrent and the vehicle electronics may be damaged.

    Caution! In order to avoid damages, pay attention that there issufficient free space for the drill outlet.

    Vakuumservoenheten (B 2) brukes til regulering av gasspjeldet, og tilkontroll av kjrehastigheten. Byggesettet inneholder en vakuumservoenhetmed en fleksibel bowden-kabel. Det beste monteringstedet i motorommeter skvettskjermen. Pass p at temperaturen ikke overstiger 100C, for unng skade p det elektroniske og mekaniske komponenter. C 2 til E 3viser en rekke metoder for festing av wiren til forgasseren. D 2 viseren detaljert fremstilling av komponentene i vakuumservomekanismen.Flgende punkter beskriver hvordan wiren festes til forgasseren.     1. Finn ut av hvilken metode for plassering av Bowden-kabelen p gasstagetsom er mulig (se C 2 og C 3). For kjrety uten Bowden-kabel kanfastgjringen utfres direkte p gasspedalen (se E 2)

    Merk:Arbeidsveien for servoen er p ca. 40 mm. Velg et festepunkt pgasstaget eller gass-wiren som tillater en arbeidsvei p 40 mm. Hvis detteikke flges vil det medfre en undvendig overbelastning p servoen,eller et begrenset arbeidsomrde. Wiren m trekke i gasstaget i en rettlinje. Mer enn 20 til en av sidene er ikke tillatt.

    2. Ta to 6 x 19 mm plateskruer og fest vakuumservoenheten pskvettskjermen.

    7.0 INSTALLING THE VACUUM SERVO UNIT (SEE C 1)

    The vacuum servo unit (B 2) regulates the throttle-setting and controls thespeed of the vehicle. The kit contains a vacuum servo unit with a flexiblethrottle lever. The best places for installation in the engine compartmentare the bulkheads and the inside wheel arches. In order to avoid damageto the electronics and mechanics, make sure that temperatures does notexceeded 100C. C 2 to E 3 illustrate various methods for attaching thewire to the carburettor. D 2 gives a detailed list of the components forthe vacuum servo unit. The following points describes how the wire is tobe attached to the carburettor. To ensure perfect functioning of the cruisecontrol, the throttle control-lever must be in good condition (e.g. not slack,not seized, etc.). If your vehicle has fuel injection, the installationinstructions refer to the throttle control-lever and not to the carburettor,and in the case of diesel engines to the fuel injection pump.

    1. Decide which method is possible for attaching the throttle lever to thethrottle linkage (see C 2 and C 3). At vehicles without throttle leverthe attachment can be made directly at the accelerator (see E 2)

    Note: The servo has about 40 mm of travelling distance. Choose astopping point at the accelerator or cable of the vehicle, whichcorresponds as nearly as possible to the distance of 40 mm. Non-compliance with this would result in excessive strain of the servo or arestricted working range. The wire must pull on the throttle controllever in a straight line. The sideways pull must not be more than 20.

    2. Using two 6 x 19 mm metal screws , attach the vacuum servo-unit tothe inside wheel arch or the bulkhead of the vehicle.

    3. Depending on the method for attaching the actuator cable theillustrated components will be used (see D 1 and D 2)

    CAUTION! The throttle lever must be kept away from rotatingor hot surface parts.

    4. Attach the throttle lever to the additional holder or with the throttlelever clamp directly to the original cable(see C 2 to E 3)

    5. Attach the rotating bolt or the cable wire clamp to the throttle controlor cable as shown in the illustration for your type of vehicle(see C 2 to E 3). Push the interior cable of the MS-50 throttle-levertrough the bolt or the cable wire clamp. Attach the stopper on thethrottle lever and push it close to the bolt or the cable-wire clamp.Ensure that the carburator or injection pump is in the idle position(when the engine is warm). Now finally fix the stopper.

    6. Fully depress the accelerator and ensure that the throttle lever cannotbecome caught on anything. Operate the control lever of the throttle ordiesel pump by hand so that the throttle lever is loose, and check withthe other hand whether the wire might become caught on anything. Ifthis is the case, the throttle lever must be relocated.

    7. The interior cable wire of the MS 50 must slip through the bolt or thecable wire clamp. The bolt must be able to rotate, to ensure an safeslip-through.

    CAUTION! The cruise control has been designed withnumerous safety features in order to guaranteesafe and reliable functioning of the electroniccomponents. However, none of these safetyfeatures can prevent the engine from suddenlyspeeding up out of control if this is due to thethrottle linkage getting stuck. So carry out severalcareful checks

    WARNING! Make sure that all disconnected cables and hosesare reconnected as otherwise the engine may bedamaged or excessive exhaust values may occur.

    CAUTION! Push the vacuum hoses on as far as they willgo. Make sure to reconnect all vacuum hoses asotherwise damage to the engine or excessiveexhaust values may occur. Ensure that thevacuum hoses are correctly secured andrecheck at regular intervals. Defective or loosevacuum hose connections will prevent properfunctioning of the connected components.

    8.0 WIRING AND ASSEMBLY OF THE ELECTRONIC MODULE(SEE E 3 TO H 1)

    1. Before starting on the wiring, the battery must be disconnected.

    2. Ensure that the electronic module and the cable of the cruise controlare fitted or laid at a distance of at least 30 cm from the distributor, theignition coil and the ignition cable.

    3. Locate a suitable position for fitting the electronic module inside thepassenger compartment. Suitable positions are found under thedashboard, behind the glove compartment or in the centre instrumentpanel. When choosing the position, remember that you will have tomake adjustments to the electronic module. Also take into account thelength of the cable that has to be laid (B 3).

    4. If necessary, remove any panelling.

    5. To secure the electronic module, it is necessary to drill two holes of 2.5 mm. To do so, hold the electronic module in the desired positionand mark the drill holes. Check before whether sufficient free spacefor the drill outlet is present.

    6. Secure the electronic module with the metal screws (B 11).

    7. Determine the nature of the speed transmission on your vehicle.

    Possibility 1: Use the magnet sensor included in the delivery kit(see chapter 11.0, I 2).

    Possibility 2: Use an original speedometer drive signal. Manyvehicles have an original speedometer drivesignal, e.g. to regulate the radio volume dependingon the speed. Your authorised vehicle dealer willbe able to tell you whether your vehicle has anoriginal speedometer drive signal.

    WARNING! Switch off the ignition before connecting theorange cable. Is the (positive/earth) cable of thebattery disconnected?

    NOTE: Make sure that teher is a constant 12 Vconnection (+ terminal 15). Do not use afluctuating 12 V connection, e.g. airconditioning,fan, etc. as the MS 50 will switch off in the caseof current fluctuations.

    8. Connect the compact connector to the electronic module.

    9. Lay the 3-lead cable (black, white, red) for the vacuum servo-unitthrough a suitable opening into the engine compartment. If speedtakeover is effected via the magnet sensor, the shielded 2-lead blackcable (with blue and black inner cables) must also be laid into theengine compartment.

    1.0 INTRODUKSJON

    10. Connect the green cable to earth.Note! For cable connections to 31 (earth):Screw the cable with cable terninal and tooth-lock washer to anoriginal earth screw on the vehicle or by terminal and metal screw tothe bodywork. Make sure that there is good earth connection!

    11. Connect the orange cable with the fuse block to + 12 V terminal 15(ignition current), using the junction connector B 14.

    12. Connection of the 2-lead cable (brown and brown/white). Connect thebown cable with the brake light switch by means of the junctionconnector (see F 1) Connect the brown/white cable with an originalfused continuous plus. In the case of vehicles with a manual gearbox,the clutch switch must also be installed and connected(see chapter 9).

    13. Using the 4-pin connector, connect the control unit to the electronicmodule, with each colour cable connected to the same colour(see chapter 10).

    14. If an original speedometer signal can be used, connect the blue cableof the 2-lead cable to the corresponding original cable. The blackcable of the 2-lead cable is not required and must be insulated.

    15. Connect the 3-lead cable (black, white, red) for the servo-motor to thevacuum servo-unit, using the pre-assembled plug and with coloursconnected to the same colour.

    16. Pull any excess length of cable in the engine compartment back intothe passenger compartment and secure all loose cables with thecable binders (B 13).

    17. Do not replace the panelling until all the work is completed and afunction test/test drive has been successfully carried out(chapter 13 - 16).

    The drivers commands are entered in the control unit which transmitsthem to the microprocessor in the electronic module. The control unit mustbe located in a suitable position so as to allow the driver to operate itproperly even in dangerous situations. Suitable locations are found: on thedashboard, on/in an instrument panel or on the steering column(see H 3).

    CAUTION! Ensure that the driver does not have to insert hishand through the steering wheel to operate thecontrol unit.

    For laying the connection cables, whenever possible always use existingcable passageways or other apertures, e.g. the edges of panelling,ventilation grids or blind switches. If no such passageways are available,a hole of 6 mm must be drilled. Check before whether sufficient freespace for the drill outlet is present.

    1. Select a suitable location (see H 3) for the control unit (B 1) andclean the surface.

    2. Remove the protective liner from the side and attach the control unit(B 1) in the selected location.

    3. If no passageways are already available for the cable of the controlunit, drill an appropriate hole near to the control unit (B 1).

    9.0 INSTALLING THE CLUTCH SWITCH (SEE H 2)

    Vehicles with manual gearbox must be fitted with a clutch switch (B 5).The clutch switch (B 5) consists of a magnet and a reed contact switch.The magnet is glued to the clutch pedal and secured with cable ribbons.The reed contact switch is attached to the chassis or the buffer for theclutch. The clutch is connected as shown in the diagram (B 5)(see F 1and G 1)

    4. Debur all drill holes which are made in the sheet metal and provide withrust-proofing agent.

    5. Fit all sharp-edged passageways with a cable bush.

    6. Push the cable through the hole behind the dashboard.

    7. Plug the connection cable into the 4-pin compact connector. Ensure thatthe colours of the cables correspond to the colours of the cables fromthe other part of the plug (see I 1).

    8. Connect the assembled 4-pin compact connector from the control unitto the 4-pin connector of the cable set (B 3).

    11.0 INSTALLING THE SPEED SENSOR

    Installing the speed sensor - Cardan shaft

    The task of the speed sensor (B 21) is to provide the control module withelectronic impulses.

    1. Block both front wheels with chocks.

    CAUTION! Never use jacks alone! Many accidents arecaused by vehicles slipping off the jack. Beforeworking under the vehicle, always place standsunderneath for additional safety.

    2. Ensure that the gearbox is in neutral, and release the handbrake.

    3. Raise the rear of the vehicle until there is sufficient space for working.

    4. Place the vehicle on stands.

    5. Under krningen med hastighetsregulatorn trycks kopplingen ned.Kopplingsbrytaren kopplar ur hastighetsregulatorn. Om detta inte skullevara fallet, kontrollera kabling och avstndet mellan magnet ochreedkontakt (se punkt 9.0 Montering kopplingsbrytare.).

    Alla installationsarbeten fr MAGIC-SPEED r avslutade och batteriet harter anslutits.Genomfr testet i ordningsfljden test A och sedan test B.

    INSTALLING THE SPEED SENSOR

    5. Fit the speed sensor (B 21) to the bracket (B 26) (see I 2). Use thehole which is best suited for your vehicle. The connections of thespeed sensor must face upwards. Use the nut (B 23) and tooth-lockwasher (B 22).

    6. Now hold the bracket on the underside of the vehicle, approx. 30 cmaway from the universal joint (see I 2 to I 4): The distance betweenthe speed sensor and the cardan shaft should be 14 mm.

    7. Using the bracket as a stencil, mark two positions for the holes. Thendrill 4.5 mm holes. Secure the bracket using two 6 x 19 mm metalscrews (B 25).

    8. Then attach the magnet to the cardan shaft.

    9. Clean the position where the magnet is to be attached.

    10. Place the plastic belt with the magnet in place (B 24) round the cardanshaft and pull the end of the belt through the fastener at the other end.Do not yet tighten the plastic belt yet.

    11. Adjust the magnet until it is located opposite the fastener of the plasticbelt.

    12. The magnet must be located so that it rotates directly below thesensor (see I 2).

    13. Tighten the plastic belt and cut off any excess length.

    14. The bracket with the sensor coil must be positioned so that thedistance between the coil head and the magnet is 3 - 5 mm(see I 3).

    15. Now draw the shielded 2-pin cable (blue and black cable) from thepassageway in the bulkhead to the two connection points of thesensor coil (B 21). (Polarity does not need to be observed.)

    16. Secure the cable with cable binders (B 13) so that it cannot come intocontact with any vehicle parts which rotate or become hot.

    17. Remove the vehicle stands and the jack.

    Installing the speed sensor - Front wheel drive

    1. Install the sensors on the left or right driving side.Examples are shown in J 3 and J 4

    CAUTION! Never use jacks alone! Many accidents arecaused by vehicles slipping off the jack. Beforeworking under the vehicle, always place standsunderneath for additional safety.

    2. Jack up the side of the vehicle where the sensors are to be installedand remove the wheel for easier access.

    3. Secure the bracket (B 26) of the speed sensor to the gearbox housingusing an original bolt so that there is a distance of approx. 3 - 5 mmbetween the location of the magnets and the sensor (see K 1).

    4. Mount the coil (B 21) on the bracket (B 26). Select the hole(see K 2) as required. Use the nut (B 23) and tooth-lock washer(B 22) for installation (see K 2).

    5. Continue with installation of the speed sensor to the cardan shaft asdescribed in steps 8 to 17(Installing the speed sensor - Cardan shaft).

    12.0 OPERATING THE MAGIC SPEED CRUISE CONTROL(SEE K 3)

    ON/OFF SWITCH:

    MAGIC SPEED is switched on by pressing the ON/OFF switch once.TheLED lights up.

    To switch MAGIC SPEED off again, press the ON/OFF switch once. TheLED goes off.

    SET BUTTON:

    1. The current speed is set by pressing and immediately releasing theSET button. The speed is then maintained until:

    a) the brake or clutch pedal is depressedb) the device is switched off via the ON/OFF switch (LED goes off)c) the speed of the vehicle is below 40 - 50 kphd) the speed drops on a hill by more than 25%.

    2. If the SET button is held depressed, the vehicle will accelerate.When the button is released, the cruise control will store the speedthen reached and maintain this speed.

    RES BUTTON:

    If the RES button is pressed and immediately released, the last speedthat was stored is re-entered, provided that

    a) the device is switched on via the ON/OFF switch(LED on the control unit is lit up)

    NOTE: If you want to reduce the speed of your vehicle by alarge amount, do not use the RES button. Use theOFF switch, the brake or the clutch instead, andthen set the new speed with the SET button.

    13.0 PUTTING INTO OPERATION AND FUNCTION TEST

    The electronic module is equipped with a diagnosis program, so all thefunctions and the electrical connections should be tested before the firsttest drive (see chapter 16. Test A and Test B).

    The display is effected by an LED on the electronic module. It is best tocarry out the practical test (test drive) on a road with little traffic.

    The cruise control cannot be tested properly when the vehicle is jackedup or on a test stand because the mass inertia factor is lacking.

    ACCELERATING AND DECELERATING:

    When the cruise control is activated, you can also make the fineadjustments. If you press the SET button once, the speed increases byapprox. 1 kph. If you press the RES button once, the speed decreasesby approx. 1 kph. This function allows you to adjust the speed of yourvehicle to the traffic flow or to a speed limit. The cruise control has amemory which stores the number of times the buttons are pressed. Forexample: If you press the SET button three times or the RES button fivetimes, the cruise control will speed up or slow down the vehicle byapprox. 3 kph and 5 kph respectively.

    14.0 SAFETY INFORMATION

    The cruise control can be switched off as follows:

    a) by depressing the brake pedalb) by depressing the clutch pedalc) by pressing the ON/OFF switch onced) by reducing the speed of the vehicle by approx. 25% below the

    stored speede) by switching off the ignition.

    The cruise control is also deactivated if electrical connections areinterrupted or if the brake light is defective. The electronic module and thevacuum servo unit contain numerous features to guarantee safety. If oneor more components should fail, the cruise control switches offautomatically.

    To ensure safe and economic operation,NEVER activate MAGIC SPEED:

    - in stop-and-go driving conditions- on wet or slippery (icy) roads!

    NOTE: If a situation should occur in which the measures statedunder points a) to c) above are not able to deactivate thecruise control, MAGIC SPEED can be deactivated byswitching off the ignition. Never remove the ignition keywhile the vehicle is travelling because this will block thesteering wheel.

    4. Montera spolen (B 21) p fstet (B 26). Vlj ut monteringshl (se K2) motsvarande realiteterna fr installationen. Anvnd mutter (B 23)och tandskiva (B 22) till monteringen(se K 2).

    5. Fortstt med monteringsteg 8 till 17 (Installation avhastighetssensorn p kardanaxeln).

    15.0 TEST DRIVE AND ADJUSTMENT

    Your cruise control is pre-adjusted in the factory. If it is properly installed,it should work satisfactorily in most vehicles. In order to find out whetherany additional adjustment is necessary, please carry out a test drive asfollows:

    1. Switch MAGIC SPEED on by pressing the ON/OFF switch once. TheLED will light up.

    2. Press the SET button and increase the speed slowly, using theaccelerator, from 40 to 50 kph. The cruise control should take over ata speed between 40 and 50 kph. This is the minimum operatingspeed.At this the LED of the Electronikc Modul flashes approx. onceper second. If the cruise control does not take over at a speedbetween 40 - 50 kph but only at a higher speed, more magnets willhave to be installed. If the cruise control takes over at a speed of lessthan 40 kph but no longer functions at speeds over 80 -120 kph andthe LED flashes more than once per secound, the black wire loops onthe electronic module have to be cut. This will change the impulsecount from 1,250 impulses/kph to 8,000 impulses/kph.

    3. Increase the speed of your vehicle to 80 kph. Now press the SETbutton and slowly release your foot from the accelerator. The cruisecontrol should take over smoothly and maintain a constant speed

    - If the vehicle loses speed when the cruise control is in operation or ifit reacts too slowly, increase the sensitivity adjustment by sliding theswitch on the electronic module to position H = high sensitivity(see K 4). Before doing so, switch off the ignition and brieflydepress the brake pedal in order to cancel the memory in theelectronic module.

    - If the vehicle gains speed when the cruise control is in operation or ifit operates too jerkily, reduce the sensitivity adjustment by sliding theswitch on the electronic module to position L = low sensitivity(see K 4). Before doing so, switch off the ignition and brieflydepress the brake pedal in order to cancel the memory in theelectronic module.

    10. Lgg plastbandet med den pfrda magneten (B 24) om kardanaxelnoch dra spetsen p plastbandet genom frreglingen p bandets tmotsatt hll lpande nde. Dra nnu inte t plastbandet.

    11. Frskjut magneten s att den sitter mitt emot frreglingen pplastbandet.

    12. Magneten mste fstas s att den vrids igenom precis under sensorn(se I 2).

    13. Dra t plastbandet och klipp av ev utskjutande nde p plastbandet.

    14. Fstet med sensorspolen mste riktas s att avstndet mellanspolhuvudet och magneten uppgr till 3 - 5 mm (se I 3).

    16.0 TROUBLESHOOTING

    The installation of the MAGIC SPEED cruise control is completed and thebattery has been reconnected.Carry out the tests in the sequence for Test A and then Test B.

    4. Drive at a speed of approx. 80 kph and activate the cruise control.When this has taken over, switch off the cruise control by braking orby operating the OFF switch. Then return the OFF switch to theON position. Now reduce the speed to approx. 60 kph. Now pressthe RES button, and the cruise control should slowly accelerate thevehicle on the previous speed setting of 80 kph.

    5. While driving with the cruise control in operation, depress the clutch.The clutch switch deactivates the cruise control. If this should not bethe case, check the wiring and the distance between the magnet andthe reed contact (see chapter 9.0 Installing the Clutch Switch).

    10.0 MONTERING AV MANVERDELEN (SE H 3)

Manverdelen mste monteras i enlmplig position fr att gra det mjligt fr fraren att manvrerakontrollbordet utan invndningar ven i farosituationer. Lmpligamonteringsplatser r: P instrumentbrdan, p/i en konsol eller prattstngskpan (se H 3).

    OBSERVERA! Se till att fraren inte mste gripa genomratten fr att manvrera.

    Fr anslutningskablarnas genomfring anvnds om mjligtstandardgenomfringar eller andra genomfringsmjligheter, som t. ex.panelkanter, ventilationsgaller eller blindelement. Om det inte finns ngragenomfringar till hands, mste det borras ett hl p 6 mm. Kontrollerainnan borrningen om det finns tillrckligt stor friyta fr borruttrdet.

    1. Vlj ut en lmplig plats (se H 3) fr manverdelen (B 1) och rengrytan.

    2. Dra av skyddsfolien och hfta fast manverdelen (B 1) p den utvaldplatsen.

    3. Om det inte finns ngra genomfringsmjligheter fr manverdelenskabel, borra ett passande hl i nrheten av manverdelen (B 1).
