of live tropical beaksh inside a bait box of

a boat which had dried across the Pacic

Ocean from Japan to the United States.

The boat containing the sh, who appeared

unharmed and healthy, washed up on shoreand is believed to be part of a de of debris

that will soon go on display at the Seaside

Aquarium, the enre shipment of animals

were euthanised to avoid the risk of

introducing an invasive species to the state.

Invesgaons revealed the sh survived the

long trip at sea due to the boat driing withits bow up, with the stern (where the sh

were being kept) under the waters surface,

with enough space for the sh to escape long

enough to go, nd food and return home.
