Portofino sits on a peninsula in the Tigullio Golf, east of Genoa. It is a picturesque, half-moon shaped seaside village with pastel houses lining the shore of the harbor.

Castello Brown sits on a hill above the village. This medieval castle has a nice garden and affords great views of Portofino and the sea. In a panoramic position on the way to the castle, you can visit San Giorgio Church, rebuilt after the last war. Another scenic pathway takes you to the lighthouse on Punta del Capo.

The Cinque Terre are National Park and UNESCO protected territory since 1997. Riomaggiore, Corniglia, Manarola, Vernazza, Monterosso are the five villages that form the Cinque Terre, suspended between sea and land on sheer cliffs upon the beautiful sea. It is one of the most uncontaminated areas in the Mediterranean Sea.

The vineyards, typical of this area, have contributed to create a unique landscape with dry-laid stone walls, winding paths, enchanting beaches between cliffs and clear waters.

The Cinque Terre offer beautiful footpaths with breath-taking views, and connecting the villages with one another.

Forte dei Marmi is located along the northern Tuscan coast between the Marinas of Ronci and Pietrasanta, in an area known as Versilia. Forte dei Marmi is known for its clean, sandy beaches.

In Italian Forte dei Marmi means “Fort of the marbles”. The town takes its name from the fortress that rises in the middle of the main square, built in 1788 to defend the coast from outer attacks. In the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, the tower became the place where the marble, quarried from the Alpi Apuane, was stocked before being sent to the pier for shipping.

Elba is the third largest island in Italy after Sardinia and Sicily. It is part of the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago, the largest marine park in Europe.

Famous around the world for harboring French Emperor Napoleon in 1814 during his exile, the island’s history goes back to prehistory.

Portoferraio (Iron Harbour) was described by Admiral Nelson as one of the most perfect natural harbours of the world. The bay is huge, beautiful and protected in all kinds of weather. It is a very colourful town, full of life, with narrow streets and stairways leading to the forts and the walls.

The extraordinary richness of Elba’s landscapes (both land and marine) makes this island a unique destination.
