COURSE SYLLABUS & SCHEDULE

1. THE AIM OF THE COURSEThe course aims to teach the basic concepts, subjects, skills and tools of construction project management that an architect needs as the responsible professional in building production process.

2. CONTENT OF THE COURSEThe outline of the course is given below:

● Introduction,● Projects and their management,● Contracting arrangements,● Types of Contracts,● Economics for Building,● Design Economics,● Feasibility studies in building construction● Tendering procedure,● Bidding procedure,● Information technology and information systems in construction,● Integrated management of time, resources and cost,● Project planning and programming,● Progress control and closeout.

3. REQUIREMENTS TO TAKE THE FINAL EXAM● Minimum 60 per cent attendance to the course,● Minimum 80 per cent attendance to the practical studies and the submission of all assignments.

4. SUCCESSA grade over F is required as the average of midterm exams, assignments, practical studies, quizzes and final exam for success.

5. CALCULATION OF THE GRADES● Mid-term examinations: 20 %● Practical studies: 20 %● Quizzes 10 %● Assignments: 10 %● Final examination: 40 %

6. CLASS RULES● Assignments must be turned in on the date due,● Quizzes will be given on particular subjects. A quiz may be given at any time during any class period

immediately after a lecture, at the beginning or end of a class, etc. There will be no make-up quizzes.
