World Breast Feeding Day On August 5, 2014, Crossroads PRC attended the annual Breastfeeding Day sponsored by our local Women Infants and Children (WIC) agency. Several of our community’s agencies that provide support for our local children and their families attended this four hour event. There is local entertainment, food, games and KDRM radio was there to broadcast the event live and to let each agency talk about their services and how they help the community. Crossroads had several happy winners from the drawings at the event. If you would like to learn more about the world breastfeeding week here is their website link:http://worldbreastfeedingweek.org. n

A picture is worth a thousand words…Read carefully and I will tell you a story that will warm your heart. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but in this case the words will have to do. A young lady who was very abortion minded returned to the clinic for an ultrasound, bringing along her boyfriend. As we were doing the ultra-sound,IturnedtolookatthebigscreenTVthatwehaveonthe wall which shows the ultrasound images. There the Daddy was facing the screen with his cell phone, taking pictures of their little baby. As we finished, I could tell by the smile on her face, as well as his, and they affirmed it - they chose LIFE! n

Bikers for Christ chooses Crossroads Bikers for Christ chose Crossroads Pregnancy Resource Center as their Ministry they would be supporting with their fund-raising event rides this year. They held their 1st Annual Day in the Park on May 31 and June 1 at Oasis Park in Ephrata. Several members from various chapters joined together to ride from Ephrata to Grand Coulee for lunch and then back again to Oasis park for dinner. The Bikers chose to put the “chrome” baby feet on their leathers to show their support of Crossroads and our ministry. May God continue to bless each one of them and an-swer their prayers of putting guardian angels around their bikes and… “keep the shiny side up and the rubber to the road…” as they travel our highways with their fund-raising events. n

We hope you will ask someone who attended the Ephrata Banquet on May 3rd,” How did the evening go?” I am sure you would get a resounding “wonderful”, “so funny”, “and inspiring”. Mike Williams, the speaker kept every one laughing with his great sense of humor. He finished the evening with his powerful testimony. Our theme was “Thirty Years of Love, Life and Laughter”. We celebrated with cake and candles and pictures of thirty ba-bies who would now celebrate a birthday because of Crossroad. The Lord supplied $25,000 through gifts and pledges. Again we are so grate-ful for all of our wonderful partners who support this ministry. We often tell people the foundation of this ministry is prayer. As we pray, our Father supplies! n

We would like to thank everyone who helped make our Baby Bottle campaign such a wonderful success. This year there were twenty seven churches and businesses participating from Mother’s Day to Father’s Day. Filling a baby bottle is a personal way for us to understand how we can change a life and save a life. Each bottle on average holds about $17 in change, for every three bottles that come back we are able to provide an ultrasound for a young mom. The child saved by your baby bottle will never know your name or that your loose change made it possible for their mother to see their little beating heart but God knows. We have lots of baby bottles that you can fill year round. Please stop by our office or give us a call if you or your church has not had the opportunity to participate yet. n

Baby Bottles. Thank You.

15th Annual Charity Golf Tournament

presented by Knights of Columbia #2440 & #4367

“Thank you”, “We appreciate you”, “Great job”…does not seem adequate to describe the effort the Knights of Columbus put forth to purchase us a new portable ultrasound machine that we can use in both Ephrata and Quincy. Their annual golf tournament held June 14th raised over $12,000 with more monies coming in later. This amount was matched by the Superior Council of the Knights of Columbus. There was even money left to pay for the ultrasound trainer that we will be bringing up from Texas. We are so blessed to have such dedicated supporters. n

This is especially for you dad. Sometimes dads might feel a little left out while mom is pregnant. Did you know your baby knows your voice and can hear when you read to him or her even before they are born? This is your chance to tell your baby how you’re feeling about him or her. What hopes do you have? What do you think your baby will look like? What do you want for him or her? Below is a letter from one of our first time parenting dads written to his unborn son…

Georgey’s Story “Hey there Georgey, this is your daddy! I’m so happy and excited to welcome you to this big old world. Though, at first for a lttle while I was pretty scared and nervous, thinking of how it’s going to be once you are here. But now I get so happy after thinking about you being born, in our arms and getting ready to start your own adult life. I hope that we can give you any and everything you need. I love you so much, no matter what and I hope you always remember that. Now, I’m not sure who you will look like more, but I’m pretty sure you’ll have all the little neighbor-hood girls chasing you down the street in your Big Wheel! I can’t wait to see you and how you will look on that special day and as you grow. And no matter who you look like or how cute you are or what anybody tells you, I Love you no matter what. I just wanted to let you know that, I hope Mommy and I are successful parents for you and that you become a successful person and son. And overall I just hope that we give you a happy and loving life to live. Love Daddy” n
