Christmas Woe

Soon it will be that special timeWith mistletoe, holly and sweet mulled wineBut festivities again, I’ll have to leaveTill all is finished on Christmas Eve

Some people are smug and make it clearThey organised it all earlier in the yearBy June all presents prepared and doneNo last minute shopping on the run

So at last finally I am completeMy legs and heart aches, I am dead beat‘Lets dance’ he says ‘come on don’t be boring’I don’t hear him I’m already snoring.

Time after time, it’s always the sameI end up playing the catch up gameNext year it will be different I will not failI’ll buy it all I the January sale. ©
