Between 1983 and 1985, Bob Pegg and his wife Julie Fullerton were resident on Teesside. Bob was Writer in Residence at the Dovecot Arts Centre, Stockton, working both in the community and in schools. Bob Pegg and his wife Julie were part of the traditional folk and storytelling band Mr FoxAt the end of the residency, he produced two booklets Dotting the i's (work produced in the schools) and Crossing the Tees (adult writing). They were sponsored by Northern and Cleveland Arts and they launched it via a series of performances around Cleveland with some of the writers and Bob and Julie. Part of the project was initiated by Gordon Hodgeon and John Carthew. Gordon was English advisor for Cleveland County education and John Carthew was a senior lecturer in English at Teesside Polytechnic and on the board of the Dovecot.
