Work Instructions (WI)
Our Quality Inspectors are trained to work from specific WI signed-off by the customer and supervisor.
WI can be created by Cross Check Quality Inspection; if WI are not provided by customer.
WI will be finalized by customer for each Part Number on containment.
The WI are a live document and come with a change control log.
Visual Inspection
Each part is 100% visually inspected for defects specified in the WI.
An identification mark or stamp is placed on the part for verification.
Each container or tote is identified with a “Cross Check” certification sticker.
If non-conforming parts are found each container is back-filled to maintain correct quantity.
Non-Conforming Material
Each non-conforming part is identified with a “reject” tag and placed in the designated hold area.
The non-conforming material is then returned to the customer.
Daily Summary Sheets
A daily summary sheet is completed by Quality Inspectors for each Part Number with quantity sorted and rejected.
The summary sheet will be hand-delivered, faxed, or scanned to the Quality Engineer for review each day.
The summary sheet list defects, time, lot #’s, and sample audit verification.
Week Ending &
Monthly Summary Sheets
A week and 4 week (monthly) ending summary will be sent to the QA department each Monday.
The summary will show a Pareto list of defects found on each Part Number and the quantity.
The summary will show total pieces inspected, the defect %, defect PPM, and inspection data for the last 4 weeks.
