Crocheted Santa Head Ornament

Abbreviations:

• ch = chain• sc= single crochet• hdc = half-double crochet• dc = double crochet• tr = triple crochet• sl st = slip stitch

Things You Will Need:

• Worsted weight, 4-ply yarn(pink, white and red)

• F-hook• (2) 1/4" wiggly eyes• 3/8" white pom pom• Blush and cotton swab• 3/8" jingle bell• Craft glue• Scissors• Rule

This crochet pattern does not include a gauge as it is not a pattern that requires a sized fit.

Face (pink yarn):

Rnd 1-Form a magic ring. Ch 3 (counts as first tr). Tr 21 times in the ring. (total 22 tr) Sl st to top of ch 3 to join.

Rnd 2-Change to white yarn. Ch 1, sc 11 times through center to outside of face. Sc in each of the remaining 11 sts on the outside of the face. Sl st to top of ch 1 to join.

Rnd 3-Beard edging-(Ch 3, sc in next st.) Repeat for total of 10. Sl st in next and finish off.

Hat:

Row 1-With back side facing and starting from righthand end of beard edge, skip 2 sts and attach red yarn. Ch 1, 2 sc in each of the next 7 sts.

Row 2-Ch 3, turn. Tr in next st, tr-dc in next, 2 dc in next, dc-hdc in next, hdc-sc in next, sc in each of the next 7 stitches. Sl st in the next and finish off.

Finishing:

• Weave in the yarn ends. • Glue 3/8" jingle bell to peak of hat and 3/8" white pom pom to

center of face. • Glue two 1/4" wiggly eyes above nose. • After glue has dried, apply a light dusting of blush to the nose using

a cotton swab. • Cut an 8” length of red yarn. Thread the yarn through the top of the

hat and tie a knot to form a hanger for the ornament.
