Rnd 1 (right side): With MC, ch 1, * ch 3, keeping last lp of each st on hook, 2 dc in 4th ch from hook, yo and draw through 3 lps on hook (cluster st made). Ch 1, rep from * 4 times more. Ch 3 (counts as first dc, now and throughout), 2 dc in 4th ch from hook, (ch 2, 3 dc) twice in same ch, ch 1, (3 dc in next ch-1 sp between cl-sts, ch 1) 4 times, [3 dc, (ch 2, 3 dc) twice] in first ch, ch 1, (3 dc in ch-1 sp between cl-sts, ch 1) 4 times; join with a sl st to first dc (14 groups of 3-dc and 5 cl-sts).
Rnd 2: Ch 3, turn, 2 dc in ch-1 sp, * (3 dc, ch 1) in each ch-1 sp across to corner, [(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in corner ch-2 sp, ch 1] twice, rep from * once; join with a sl st to first dc (18 groups of 3-dc).

Rnds 4-21: Continue as established, working (3 dc, ch 1) in each ch-1 sp and (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 1) in each corner ch-2 sp. At the end of Rnd 21, finish off.
Rnd 22: With right side facing, join B with a sc in any ch-2 corner, ch 2, picot, ch 2, sc in same sp, * ch 2, picot, ch 2, (sc in next ch sp, ch 2, picot, ch 2) across to next corner, sc in corner ch-2 sp, ch 2, picot, ch 2, sc in same sp, rep from * around, omitting last corner of last rep. Finish off.
Afghan TrimWith right side facing, join B with a sl st in center of any corner ch-2 sp of Rnd 9, ch 3, sl st in center dc of next Rnd 10 group of 3-dc, picot, ch 3, * sl st in center dc of next Rnd 9 group of 3-dc, ch 3, sl st in center dc of next Rnd 10 group of 3-dc, picot, ch 3, rep from * across to next corner. Rose (Make 18)With A, ch 7, (sc, 5 dc, sl st) in 2nd ch from hook, mark the sl st, (sc, 5 dc, sl st) and in next 5 ch, curl into rose shape, sl st in marked sl st. Finish off, leaving long end.
Leaves (Make 18)With B, ch 11, sl st in first ch (1st Leaf made), ch 10, sl st in same ch as last sl st (2nd leaf made). Finish off, leaving long end.
FinishingWith right side facing, using long ends and yarn needle, sew leaves to afghan, evenly spaced. Using long ends and yarn needle, sew roses to center of leaves. Weave in ends.
