How your students use Criterion

criterion.ets.org

The first time you use Criterion you have to register.

Use the two codes your teacher gave to you.

User name: (yourname)(yoursoongsilnumber)

Example: HyoungJu200100001

Password: Choose something easy to remember.

Now you can make your user name and choose a password

Click on your essay.

Just click ‘Continue’.

Start writing you essay here.

When you have finished your essay you can click SUBMIT ESSAY.

You should only submit one time. Make sure you are finished and ready to check your mistakes.

Click okay.

You need to wait a few seconds while your essay is checked

Click View Score Analysis.

Click REVISE ESSAY tab

You need to click on the tabs to see different kinds of mistake

Click on the green writing to see where you made mistakes.

I clicked the Mechanics tab and then the green Missing Comma category.

‘For example cattle are castrated…’

You have made a comma error.

Now see if you can correct it in your essay below. Then continue checking the tabs and green writing until you correct as many error as you can.

To print your essay when you have finished,

click View Score Analysis.

Then click Printer Friendly Version and the printer icon.
