    SELF ANALYSIS OF THE INSTITUTION

    PREFACE

    Evolution:

Thirty seven years ago, a small lamp of knowledge was lit, to be exact, onAugust 21, 1969 to inaugurate the college, named after the memory of ate !ri"elagapudi #amakrishna , the pioneer industrialist of Andhra who gave away 2$%&'

acres of land and buildings therein for the location of the college at (agaram in #epalletaluk of )untur district, Andhra *radesh% The founding of this college was an act offaith as the college was started in a remote and sleepy village of hardly a thousandthatched houses% The impulse behind it is the great principle that every human

    Evlution:

Till recent years any evaluation of the institution academic or administrative was

only through examination results. The real need to assess the strength and weakness of

the college in an objective manner never arose, because development all through the years

in the college was both consistent and continuous. Due to globalization, liberalization

and industriali.ation, emphasis on :uality has become the keynote of every walk of lifeand every area of knowledge in the 21stcentury% !o there is need for drastic and

:ualitative changes in all aspects of education so as to enable teachers and studentsto face the challenges of a dynamic world%

nder these circumstances, we wanted to undertake the evaluation i%e%, selfassessment and analysis, primarily to make a candid recording of our own

capabilities for further growth both :uantitative and :ualitative% -ncidentally themethodology and the format of self study laid down by (AA+ has created a lot of

enthusiasm among the staff members as well as management of our college%Also periodical self study and assessment is an important necessity, as we felt thatrecognition by (AA+ and )+ is expected to enhance the prestige of the collegeand add to the self esteem and respect of all who are involved in the teaching, learning and administration of the college%
