In fact, we’ve been giving a warm welcome since 1868 – when my ancestors first opened the doors. Back then, hundreds of Victorians flocked here to rejuvenate in the therapeutic spring waters.

Today, we’re far more geared up towards luxury, relaxation and fun than the Victorians were. We now offer family favourites like six hours free, supervised daily childcare at BIG Country – Scotland’s largest childcare centre.

And if you feel like exploring, Crieff Hydro’s a great base for trips out to local attractions like the Famous Grouse Experience and Blair Drummond Safari Park.

Luxurious self-cateringAt Crieff Hydro, self-catering means home-from-home convenience; large, spacious interiors and rural settings with amazing countryside views.

You’re welcome to enjoy everything the resort has to offer.

FIVE-STAR COTTAGES AND LODGESGlamorous décor, great views and lots of space. Our cottages and lodges come in all shapes and sizes – so you can host the biggest of family gatherings (up to 16 people in adjoining buildings).

THREE-STAR CHALETSComfy, cosy and just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. Every chalet has two bedrooms – thanks to the sofa bed in the living room, they sleep up to six people. And if there are members of your family who’d rather stay at the hotel, that’s no problem. Just book them in separately – you can all use the same facilities.

BREAKFAST AND DINNERBreakfast takes on a sense of occasion in the Meikle Restaurant. Think high ceilings, an attentive team - and eggs any way you like them. By night it becomes even more special; pop into the bar for pre-dinner drinks, then sit at your elegantly set table. But the real star is the food, with inspiring dishes created by our three times Scottish Chef of the year Bruce Price. The Meikle’s menus include options your kids will like too. Or, if they’d prefer, kids can have their Brasserie high tea (followed by an evening of fun) while parents enjoy a quiet meal alone.

The Brasserie is a touch less formal; young families love it. Or it’s just a five minute walk to our sister hotel, the Murraypark. The Clubhouse is open for dinner too – perfect if you’re staying in a nearby self-catering cottage.

GRAB A QUICK BITEThe Hub is the perfect spot to grab a wrap, soup or salad. Or stroll into the Victorian Winter Garden for a morning coffee, light lunch or afternoon tea, where you can try the award winning Pekoe loose tea.

TAKE IT OUTDOORSIce creams on the Hub patio or Brasserie terrace. Drinks and sandwiches while the kids get stuck into the play area at Murraypark. Or maybe a panini outside the Clubhouse, while you keep a watchful eye on the crazy golf playoffs.

Extreme speed or extreme skill – we’ve got family activities covered. In fact, we’ve got it covered 60 times over – that’s how many on-site activities you can choose from.

FRESH AIR AND SCENERY ON TAPIt’s a bit difficult to imagine the scale of our 900-acre countryside estate. Let’s just say there’s lots of exploring to do – hire some bikes, book a ride on Polly the Pony (or bigger ponies for older kids), or tackle ludicrous inclines in one of our Land Rovers.

And forget about the season. Most of our outdoor activities run throughout the year – from the 18-hole Culcrieff golf course to our quad biking tracks.

RELAXING TREATSOur adults-only Victorian Spa is just the place to do very little indeed.

Lie back in the sauna, steam room and spa bath, or take a dip in the perfectly-heated pool. Go on – we challenge you to leave feeling anything but completely relaxed.

Hot stone massages, restoring facials, luxury manicures – who needs an excuse to book yourself (or a loved one) in for a pampering session?

Free childcare is just the beginningBringing kids aged 2-12? Welcome to BIG Country, Scotland’s largest registered childcare centre. Think three storey castles, amazing craft sessions and the biggest ball pool you’ve ever seen.

And you get six hours of free childcare a day (that’s a choice of two three hour sessions per child).

For under 2s, we have a crèche and babysitting service (for a small supplement). Of course,the whole team’s fully qualified.

That leaves just one question: what to do with your evening? With the kids safely in BIG Country, you might want to enjoy a quiet meal for two, take a seat in our cinema, relax in our adults only spa pool or join in the evening entertainment.

Take a seat in our very own cinema, unleash your competitive side in a quiz night, or show us your moves at one of our regular Scottish ceilidhs. We have live music every Friday and Saturday night all year round, plus Mondays and Wednesdays if you stay during school holidays.
