    These t ra i ls al low the publ ic to enjoy part of the 60,000 -acre Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed (CREW ) . This land helps protect and preserve one of our most valuable natural resources - water .

    F l int Pen Strand offers a var iety of habitats for wildl i fe including fox squirre ls , white - ta i led deer , bobcats , otters , swal low - ta i led kites and bald eagles .

    CREW stretches from Corkscrew Road to Immokalee Road and includes a 5,000-acre sawgrass marsh that helps filter water.

    Swallow-tailed kites can be seen soaring over sections of the red trail when they return each winter to nest.

    The Bi l ly G. Cobb Memoria l Trai l (Red Trai l ) i s approximately 1.5 miles long. A

    blue short cut t ra i l i s avai lable for guests that wish to end their hike ear l ier . The t ra i l i s winding with uneven terra in and

    may be seasonably wet.

    This trail winds through many ecosystems, including pine flatwoods,

    and offers views of the Kehl Canal.
