St. Thomas (Florida) Sea Base• Sailing Adventure

• Explore a new environment every day!• Live and work on a 45’ sailboat all week• Snorkel gear issued to each person• Fishing gear available on boat• Tour the Caribbean Sea• Visit unique ecosystems: Mangrove Hammocks, Sea Grass beds, Sea Floor, and Coral

Lodging• None!

Food• During travel everyone is on their own. ($30-$40)• Breakfast included at hotels while in Miami and Orlando.• Trek food included in price while at Sea Base.

Trek Timeline• February 2014: - Make reservation with Florida Sea Base – Lottery• March 2014: Collect initial deposits from all Crew members attending• October: $400 Payment due• December: Fundraiser• February 2015: Airline tickets booked. Payment due.• March: $310 Sea Base payment due• March: Practice Swim Test! (Develop personal conditioning plans)• March: Crew CPR & First Aid training• April: Sailing Training on Council boats • May 2013: Movie Night! – Safe Swim Defense, Hazardous Weather, Safety Afloat,

YPG!• May – Swim Check• June: File Tour Plan• June: Physicals, permission slips all turned in to Trek Leader• June: Crew Meeting to review final itinerary and packing list. Collect any

paperwork still outstanding. • June – Go Sailing!
