Creating a safe, comfortable and visually appealing environmentStatoil has precise guidelines for the illumination of their petrol stations to ensure a consistent lighting image, to reduce light pollution and decrease energy consumption.

Because of advances in technology, LEDs not only have the required intensity, but also superior optical control compared to conventional sources of light such as metal halide or high-intensity discharge lights.

The proper illumination of a car wash highlights the availability of the facility on the site, providing customers with a feeling that the car wash is open and operating. Statoil requires an average of 500 lux in their car wash halls, but the centrally situated fixtures are equipped with a motion detector, that switches automatically into low mode when the car wash is not used, providing further energy savings.
