Not amused…Yesterday afternoon, the Coquihalla
was closed northbound, 1km south of theKingsvale exit, after a semi from WestCoast Amusements flipped on itsside, spilling midway supplies across thethe entire two lanes of traffic.
The highway was closed for two hourswhile crews moved the wrecked truck tore-open 1 lane. No reports of any injuries.

Home based bizzoning bylaw review
The home based business task forcehas concluded its review of the City’sregulations for home occupations.They've come up with some suggestionsthat will be worked into the zoningbylaw amendment currently in process:
• The gross floor area in a home that can be used for business would be doubledfrom 20m2 to 45m2 (from 215 sq. ft to 484 sq. ft). The maximum % of gross floor areadoubled from 20% to 40% • Reference to 'minimizing excessive traffic' was removed& they will look at controlling traffic by restricting the types of businesses and usingparking requirements • Secondary suites would be available for a home based busi-ness • No limit to the number of employees • Off-street parking spaces would belimitless, and all parking would occur on-site.

Nov. 4 1931 - May 14, 2014Mary passed peacefully in her sleep
May 14th at Coquihalla-Gillis House.Mary was born in Big Bar and moved tothe Nicola Valley where she met hersoul mate Vern. They ranched in Sun-shine Valley, where they raised their twodaughters, Linda and Dian, plus manyother children who called it home.
Mary was predeceased by the loveof her life Vern Cripps in 1987, sistersBarb, Rita, Doris, and brothers Stan andKeith. She is survived by her sistersRuth & Velma and brother Leonard;her daughters Linda (Jim) Gardner andDian (Al) Murdock; grandchildrenKen, Sandi, Wayne and Gina; greatgrandchildren Joey, Jessica, Alyssa,Charlee, Sam, Mollie and Piper; andnumerous nieces & nephews.
Mamie enjoyed the wellness centerand listening to music. She touchedand enriched the lives of many, and thegood times with Mary will always beremembered. Thank you to the Dialy-sis staff in R.I.H, Kamloops and thestaff at Coquihalla-Gillis House.
A celebration of life will be held atthe Merritt Civic Centre, Sunday May25, 2014, from 1-3pm.
