Creatures of the Night by Antonio Hernandez Bring forth the creatures of the night They are children of our uncertainty Screaming and howling they dance about our ignorance, indulge in our fears and feast on the meat of who we are, until we too become mere skeletons A mockery of humanity Puppets to our own distrust And clothed in prejudice. Creatures of the night are conceived from mortal ego and nurtured by the works of human hands, carried through conception by all the good we fail to do.

Creatures of the Night -‐  by  Antonio  Hernandez

Bring  forth  the  creatures  of  the  night  They  are  children  of  our  uncertainty    Screaming  and  howling  they  dance  about  our  ignorance,  indulge  in  our  fears  and  feast  on  the  meat  of  who  we  are,  until  we  too  become  mere  skeletons      A  mockery  of  humanity    Puppets  to  our  own  distrust    And  clothed  in  prejudice.

Creatures  of  the  night  are  conceived  from  mortal  ego  and  nurtured  by  the  works  of  human  hands,  carried  through  conception  by  all  the  good  we  fail  to  do.

Page 2: Creatures of the Night

Creatures  of  the  night  are  born  from  the  wombs  of  mental  catacombs  made  of  broken  spirits  and  tattered  dreams,  delivered  as  payment  for  the  power  we  pursue,  and  used  as  whores  for  the  addiction  of  our  fears.    Bring  forth  the  creatures  of  the  night    They  are  children  of  our  uncertainty    Like  a  true  mother  to  her  child  gaze  upon  these  creatures  and  know  them  to  be  yours  –  embrace  them  with  open  arms  and  see  your  mother  and  father  within  their  eyes  and  greet  them  by  name.  Yet  if  you  flee  from  them  in  terror  and  awe  they  will  swarm  to  you  and  viciously  drinking  your  blood,  ripping  your  limbs,  and  severing  your  bowels  until  your  body  is  no  more  and  all  that  remains  is  pure  humility  and  faith.  Rejoice  for  not  even  karma  has  control  over  the  greeting  of  mother  and  child  and  it  is  through  this  humbling  separation  of  body  and  consciousness  that  we  are  ultimately  liberated.

Bring  forth  the  creatures  of  the  night  They  are  children  of  our  uncertainty  helping  our  spirit  realize  we  are  body  no  more.    Creatures of the Night  -‐  by  Antonio  Hernandez
