Narrative structure – a parallel narrative structure was more

challenging than a linear narrative as it required more

attention to continuity and editing.

Poster – to reflect the parallel narrative, we flipped the 2nd

photo upside down to mirror the other one. This was inspired by our research on the film poster

for ‘Sliding Doors’.

Genre – drama/documentary. This genre can apply to all types

of people; teenager, adults, children, male, female, etc. This is reflected by the characters in the

film.

Sound bridge – in the scene flipping between the car and the

little boy, the music changed volume to show that it was

diegetic sound coming from the car stereo.

Technology impact – Photoshop/Phantom HD slow mo camera/Final Cut Pro – improved

our film and ancillary tasks, making them more professional

and of higher quality.

Shots – dolly shot around the table was the most challenging as

we had to keep the shot very steady and not to include any of

the cast in the shot as they moved out of position – continuity.

‘Think!’ adverts – we used real conventions to inspire our film.

The ‘Think!’ adverts have a strong and dramatic message to shock the audience, we wanted to create this shock and at the

same time a sense of sympathy.

Influences – having no dialogue, which was inspired by ‘The Black Hole’, was challenging because it meant we had to rely completely

on the representations of the characters and places by their

clothes and their actions.
