you will read it, mark your calendars and come again and again to Belhaven for great music and other arts events. Some of these and others will return to present alumni recitals. Current string students are members of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra. Belhaven Theatre is offering its 16th year of productions with a season that celebrates the art of storytelling.

We begin with a world premiere of Joseph Frost’s Mayfair Ma Chére, a farcical sequel to his The Mayfair Affair from a few seasons ago. Our second production of the spring, Sketching the Soul, presents a story that encourages the audience to think about one’s faith in a contemporary society versus one’s passion and how the past, eventually, catches up to us. Our season concludes with one of the masterpieces of the Golden Age of Broadway, The Music Man, which tells the story of how love can emerge even when it is least expected.

We are also excited to see a fantastic group of guest designers and guest artists collaborate on our productions this year, as well as our extensive use of Barber Auditorium as a truly theatrical venue. Furthermore, we are thrilled to announce our new affiliation with the Kennedy Center/American College Theater Festival, which will provide numerous opportunities for our students to advance their craft. We hope that you will join us at the theatre!

she neglected to mention to Mike (her boyfriend), new friends and colleagues. The past and present, celebrity and spiritually come to a head one frenetic weekend when her younger sister Sarah arrives unexpectedly. Chelsea must explain her sister and the lifestyle she kept a secret to Mike, an attorney struggling with his own ethical priorities, and to Maureen Nash, an aggressive journalist who arrives with a photographer for an interview (during which Chelsea, with a rather un-Amish-like attitude, pummels the photographer into surrendering the film he has shot of Sarah!) Sarah and Mike together help Chelsea to accept and acknowledge the power of her Amish heritage and to move toward a future she had not expected. General admission $10, seniors/students $5. Complimentary admission for Belhaven students, faculty, staff and their immediate families. Doors open thirty minutes prior to each performance.

I cannot be more excited about what God is doing with film production at Belhaven University. The campus and

community support has been wonderful, and students are enthusiastic about the opportunity to develop their gifts and talents in this exciting field. Our first annual Film Production Showcase will give students a chance to present their work to an audience—hopefully you! There is simply nothing like having the lights go down and sharing your work with a community, while hearing laughs, gasps and applause for something you have labored on for months at a time. Please come be a part of this experience as we launch a whole new art form at Belhaven University!
