Creative Virtual Hangout Ideas We’re all itching to get out and see some of our favorite people. But just because we can’t be in the same room as the ones we love doesn’t mean we have to feel the isolation. Whether FaceTime, Zoom, GoogleHangouts, Skype, HouseParty, WhatsApp, or the dozens of others… pick one of these fun ideas to plan a get together with your friends. Host a virtual dinner party. Food brings people together. But we don’t have to avoid that over COVID-19. Whether casually having a PBJ lunch together over a video call, exchanging favorite recipes with a group of friends (cooking and tasting the meal over a video call), or hosting a themed dinner party (beach theme, Italian, etc.) we can still use food to spend time together. Virtual Game Night. Game nights have the ability to bring people together. They bring out the competitive side and humor in a unique way. For the younger kiddos, sometimes an extended FaceTime call with Grandma or Grandpa can be hard to keep attention for. Try having them read a book to your little one. Buy a Mad Libs Book and fi ll out all of the blanks with your friends. Then the person who has the book reads it aloud. This is sure to keep you laughing for days. Paint and Snack. Ready to tap into your inner Bob Ross? Lookup a painting tutorial on YouTube, there are hundreds, and invite your friends to a virtual crafting or paint night. Bring your favorite snacks and laugh at the mistakes, while ‘oohing’ and ‘ahhing’ over the talent displayed. This is a great one for all ages.
