Centrally located within the UK, Wakefield is at the heart of the North of England in West Yorkshire. The gallery is located approx. 5-minute drive from the M1 and is on a mainline train route from London Kings Cross. The gallery has its own car park which can be used by guests.

The Hepworth Wakefield is an award-winning art gallery in the heart of Yorkshire, set within Wakefield’s historic waterfront, overlooking the River Calder.

Our world-class galleries and versatile, state-of-the-art spaces provide the perfect canvas for your event – from meetings and conferences to private parties and weddings, photo shoots and product launches.

Spaces can be hired individually or as part of a package to suit your needs. We recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

THE AUDITORIUM Ground floor / seats 100 theatre-style or 90 for dining. The purpose-built auditorium offers flexibility and comfort with breath-taking views of the River Calder. Fitted with Wi-Fi and extensive audio-visual facilities including large screen, integrated projector, free-standing lectern and induction loop. Available to hire every day of the week, including evenings.

THE LEARNING STUDIOS Ground floor / each studio seats 50 theatre style, or 120 across both spaces. The learning studios comprise two beautifully lit spaces which can be used in combination or individually. A separate board room for up to 10 people is also available.

THE HEPWORTH CAFÉ Ground floor / seats 80 for dining and 130 standing.Our fully licensed café is ideal for after-hours private parties, dining and drinks receptions, with food by Wakefield-based MasterChef quarter-finalist, Chris Hale.

THE GALLERIES First floor / hosts 150 people. A number of our galleries, displaying our stunning art collection, can be hired exclusively for after-hours drinks receptions, networking and dining.

FOYERGround floor / hosts 100. The gallery’s foyer is a versatile space for large receptions or showcasing products. Private meeting rooms are also available to use as a base for your team to manage logistics.

FILMING, PHOTOGRAPHY & PRODUCT LAUNCHES From the pigmented concrete of our building to the ‘white cube’ galleries, our spaces are the perfect backdrop for filming, photography and launches. Available to use during the daytime and evening. Recent clients include: Adidas, BBC, Benz, Cereal Magazine, Channel 4 News, Jeep, Matador Pictures, Mercedes and Netflix.

SPECTACULAR SETTINGS AS STANDARD

ACCESS The auditorium, learning studios and café have level access from the foyer and are easily accessible by a wheelchair user. There are accessible toilets on each floor, including a Changing Places toilet on the ground floor.
