Susan FordTextile & Jewellery artist Sue’s hand painted and dyed silk garments and scarves come in a range of unique styles and colours. Discovering polymer clay as a medium for jewellery in 2016, Sue has developed a range of techniques with the clay to create one of a kind jewellery pieces that complement her silk and textile work. Through using Kumihimo, (a Japanese braiding technique) to produce strikingly colourful necklaces and bracelets, and matching these with individually designed polymer clay pendants, Sue has created wearable art pieces that attract much interest. Mixed media silk and acrylic art works on canvas round out Sue’s repertoire.

She would be delighted to show you her production techniques with these various media when you visit her studio.

Ian JonesVisual artistIan paints primarily in oils but his artwork also includes the use of acrylics and water colour. He mostly concentrates on Australian landscapes and scenes including historic representations, whilst other subjects include; animals, birds and abstracts. He enjoys experimenting with new techniques and topics.

Nicola MarshVisual artist After many years of dabbling in various artistic activities, Nicola enjoys the creativity of moving freely between different mediums and often incorporates several techniques into a piece.

In mixed media, the process of building various individual layers allows a spontaneous direction to evolve, often dictated by the piece itself. Currently bird themes dominate her work and Nicola enjoys being able to add an element of whimsy.

Gabrielle is an artist and believes art is for all people. Her grandfather’s influence encouraged her to study the arts and millinery.

After raising a family, she rekindled her passion for colour, exploring the application of watercolours, acrylics, oils and other mixed media. In contrast to Gabrielle’s use of strong colours for her larger images, she paints gentler landscapes, reflective of her travel destinations.

Gabrielle’s love of hats led her to refreshing her millinery skills. Her creations include fascinators, head pieces and accessories for race days, weddings and other occasions.

Pam Taylor Visual artist

8 8

Pam paints with acrylics and mixed media to create brightly coloured, fun, whimsical imaginings that bring happiness and joy to the soul. She paints from the heart listening to the voice within to create how she sees and feels, at that moment, in the world around her. Pam begins work on a painting by applying papers, napkins, and stencils. Then she will contemplate it for awhile.....waiting for the inspiration of the subject to evolve and direct her. She feels the emotional connection made in her paintings is through the eyes of her subject.

Colour, patterns and texture are her passions. With a need to express herself through her art, she finds it is relaxing, therapeutic and so rewarding.

Danielle B LattaVisual artistRunning Duck Studio is all about having a bit of fun. The artwork is Australian themed with a dab of wildlife, a little bit of cheeky humour and a touch of whimsy. Some works show almost cartoonish elements inspired by her time spent drawing for Walt Disney. In Danielle’s studio you will find original art, hand painted parasols, cards, bags and photographed Australian scenes and wildlife.

HABITAT & HUMANITYAn artistic study of relationship between human & enviroment

Creative Samford is proud to promote and foster the arts in our region

A mixed media exhibition, showing the work of local artists exploring their relationship with the environment and answering, what does nature

mean to you?

The exhibition has been organised by Zac Crookes who was inspired by a visit to the Winaypaq School in Peru. The school is completely self funded with

a curriculum based on the Steiner philosophy. The school also has a strong educational focus on

Andean culture, permaculture and ecology.

All proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to the Winaypaq school to help with their wonderful

programs.
