Once we have a clear idea of what you want us to
build, and an agreed design brief, our team sets
out to produce a design that will hit the spot and
give you the unique, funky, fun and fab area you
desire. Your design will be totally unique to you, your
location, your wishes, your budget and your likes
and dislikes.
innovate
We feel the first and most important step in the
process is to listen fully to your requirements.
Only then can we formulate a detailed plan which
forms the core of our design brief. Our aim is to create
a unique design that will truly enhance your area and
the your user’s experience of it. We may be highly
creative but we are totally practical too.

“The best way to make children good is to make them happy”
Oscar Wilde
Once the design, build materials and costings are
agreed and signed off, we will begin bringing it all
to life for you. Our dedicated in-house construction
team will clear, prepare and construct the design in
its entirety. Attention to detail coupled with quality of
materials and finishing is of paramount importance
to us. On completion of your build, we will sign off
the build together with you to check that you are
100% satisfied with every aspect of your new area.
Peace of mind comes from knowing your
area will remain low maintenance, safety
compliant and will not be an ongoing
cost burden. As standard we offer a free
12 week post installation check where
we make sure everything has settled in
correctly. To continue to offer top quality
service to our customers, we also offer a
full maintenance and safety compliance
service to ensure your area stays in top
condition.

consult + planThis site is part of the Busy Bees Group. The team
at the Braintree site wanted a lovely interactive site
that would enable the children to spend more time
outdoors with a whole range of new experiences.
The staff wanted an area that was fun, physically
challenging, varied, stimulating, peaceful, social
and interactive.
innovateThis site also presented a particular challenge as
the play area around the building was somewhat
narrow in places. We designed and zoned the
outside area with all the requested elements as well
as having the curriculum in mind.
deliverA giant all weathers sandpit, hand carved in the
shape of a boat, connected to an enclosed slide
and steps was a key installation. We also delivered
a lovely 10 seater Tepee with enabling group
sessions, storytelling and lunches to be available in
all weathers. Sung inside with panels zipped up.
Sensory planting, sun canopies, imaginative play
zones, bug zone hemispheres, social and group
seating together with tactile carvings completed the
transformation.
As a result the Manager commented that
the children’s outdoor experiences had been
transformed and as a result the children now
couldn’t wait to get outside!

day care nurseries
consult + planThis was an unusual request as the school had already done a
lot of work in producing a detailed brief complete with drawings.
The children had a comprehensive design to develop a bland
area of tarmac into a ‘Green Leaf Garden’. Previous companies
had tried to change the children’s brief or install their own
products and not honour the design. We were chosen as the
contractor because we agreed to build the garden exactly as
the children had designed it.
innovateThis was a first for the team, to follow the brief given by the
children exactly and the challenge was not to deviate from that.
The children were very specific in what was to be accomplished.
For example the garden had to have the shape of a leaf when
viewed from above. There had to be living willow, solar powered
weather stations, music, a role play stage, growing beds, green
surfacing, sun shelter and hand carved wavy benches just to
name a few.
deliverWe found ways of building curved, leaf shaped decking areas
and fused traditional materials with hand made items to bring the
children’s ideas to life. Functionality, durability and a natural tactile
element were all key. There were 23 key points to the children’s
brief and we delivered all 23.
St Marys & St Peters Primary School

early years
consult + planThe Head had done considerable research on what she wanted
her children to get from the area. The brief was to create a
physically challenging area for 60 plus children that could also be
used for sports days, had a social aspect, an outdoor teaching
area and was above all natural, fun and had the WOW factor.
innovateThe main idea was to create a ‘jungle track’ experience that
was an assault course, adventure play area and jungle all
mixed into one.
The jungle track became a twin track assault course
enabling individuals or teams to compete against one
another in an original, stimulating, fun area with minimal
supervision requirements.
deliverWe angled crawl tunnels and balance beams so they could
all be safely overseen from the thatched watchtower enabling
safe supervision at all times. 6 Large jungle carvings (some 2.4
meters in height) were chosen by the children to replicate the
‘jungle book’ theme. A large separate seating area for 40 was
constructed to the rear and a large maze accommodating 20
children was added just for fun.
Functionality, durability, low maintenance and safety were our
key considerations.
There were 22 separate agreed wish list points on this brief
and we delivered all 22.

consult + planThis was a new purpose built children’s centre constructed
within an existing primary school grounds. The site was a
totally clear level area of earth. A blank canvas indeed!
innovateThe brief was to construct an outstanding play area which
could be zoned and controlled according to the weather.
Creating areas and activities that would encourage parent
and child interaction and play was also a key requirement.
We also had been asked to deliver water play, sand play,
digging, seating, a sun shade, a playhouse, physical
challenge, painting, mark making, planting, a picnic area,
large areas of grass, a deer carving and funky fencing
...all with safety and visual impact.
deliverWe created a soft play area that flows from the main
building, as well as a giant sunken sandpit with sun canopy.
Connected to this, a maze decking area with places to hide,
mark making and see through double sided painting panels
set into the walls.
Leading off from this a the physical challenge area with a
partially enclosed spiral slide, a clamber panel, secret under
houses and a hidden beach stone zone. In the main grassed
garden area is a bespoke hobbit’s house, a functioning
paddling stream, a large earth digging bed, sensory paving,
a bamboo circular den, funky fencing and plants.
This area is gated as is the physical challenge area so staff
can control access to play areas dependent upon weather.
