DEAR FRIENDS,At Eat’n Park Hospitality Group, we’re passionate about supporting the communities where we live, work, and play. Why? Because community is what unites us. It unites our partners, our guests, our clients, and our team members.

Giving back isn’t just something we do: It’s who we are. And it’s something that all of our brands—Eat’n Park Restaurants, Hello Bistro, The Porch, Parkhurst Dining, and SmileyCookie.com—share.

There are so many ways that “giving back” takes form. And they’re all important. We’re grateful for the opportunity to financially support many nonprofit agencies, including food banks in every community where we do business. We love hitting the road with Smiley and his Cookie Cruiser. The piece, however, that makes us exceptionally proud is the way that our team members roll up their sleeves to embrace and serve their communities—together.

As you’ll see in this community report, we had a lot of fun serving the community in 2018. We hope that the included photos and stories create as many smiles for you as they did for us!

Enjoy!

Trina DeMarco Director of Community Impact Eat’n Park Hospitality Group

ENHANCING OUR COMMUNITIES, ONE SMILE AT A TIMEAt Eat’n Park Hospitality Group, we know the impact that we can have when we all work together. That’s how our Day of Smiles started, and this year the day was bigger and better than ever. Nearly 150 Eat’n Park Hospitality Group volunteers participated in 12 different volunteer projects to make a difference in our communities.

Each project on Day of Smiles is rooted in one of our philanthropic focus areas:

• Growing Smiles — providing access to and education about healthy food

• Hero Smiles — enhancing the lives of military veterans and their families

• Sharing Smiles — supporting family wellness and fitness

The Sharing Smiles Teams focused their efforts on five nonprofit groups:

• At GTECH, volunteers cleaned up a vacant lot that will eventually be transformed into a community green space.

• Team members updated the campus at Sarah Heinz House so that the school’s healthy living program curriculum can continue to be as impactful as possible.

• Volunteers organized the clubhouse and beautified the golf course at First Tee of Pittsburgh.

• At Girls on the Run, our team helped to ensure that young girls can participate in the Spring 5K.

• Team members refreshed an outdoor space that is used heavily by kids in the program at Best of the Batch Foundation.

Although we celebrate our spirit of volunteerism during Day of Smiles, our team members embrace it the whole year through. Eat’n Park Hospitality Group hosted more than 15 additional volunteer opportunities throughout 2018, and our volunteers logged over 37,000 hours through their own personal passion projects.

The Growing Smiles Teams volunteered for three projects:

• At the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, volunteers repacked bulk food into manageable quantities for people in need.

• The team at 412 Food Rescue readied supplies for fruit and vegetable farm gleans, the produce from which will be distributed to people in need.

• At Grow Pittsburgh in Braddock, volunteers revitalized the green space and farm for its summer bounty, which will increase food security in this low-income community.

The Hero Smiles Teams shared their time with four veterans’ organizations:

• Volunteers prepared and served a meal to veterans and their families at Fisher House.

• At the Veterans Leadership Program, our team members helped with various office projects so that staffers could focus on serving veterans.

• Team members also built boxed lunches for senior and disabled veterans at the Veterans Leadership Program.

• Volunteers created 150 toiletry kits for veterans receiving medical care at the VA Hospital.

GROWING SMILESProviding access to and education about healthy food.

HERO SMILESEnhancing the lives of military veterans and their families.

SHARING SMILESSupporting family wellness and fitness.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHTMickey Ivosevic was named our 2018 Volunteer of the Year! Mickey, a team member at our Cranberry Eat’n Park Restaurant, is passionate about recruiting her colleagues to volunteer at various events hosted by Eat’n Park Hospitality Group throughout the year. Outside of work, her true life’s purpose is helping women recover from drug and alcohol addiction. She volunteers with the women at the Aliquippa Jail and the Pennsylvania Organization for Women in Early Recovery (P.O.W.E.R.). She plans holiday celebrations and cookouts, and always brings with her a message of hope and encouragement. She pours her heart into helping the women reclaim their lives and reunite with their families.

We’re proud of Mickey’s efforts and to call her our 2018 Volunteer of the Year! In celebration, Eat’n Park Hospitality Group made a $1,500 donation to P.O.W.E.R. in Mickey’s honor.

TEAM MEMBER FUNDRAISING AND PHILANTHROPY: OUR LOVE OF GIVINGOur team members love giving. They give to our guests, they give to each other, and they give to their communities.

This past year, they gave to their neighbors in need through our annual United Way Campaign, which raised more than $265,000. Their generous contributions are making a difference for many people in our communities.

Team members also embrace, and look forward to, our annual Caring for Kids Campaign, which raises funds to support free care services in pediatric hospitals and programs in the communities where Eat’n Park Hospitality Group has a presence. This campaign is unique in that it’s driven by team members and all generated funds stay in each community.

The 2018 Caring for Kids Campaign raised $381,052, bringing our total contribution over 40 years to $11 million. Talk about an impact! These incredible totals wouldn’t be possible without the passion and love our team members have for this cause.

Another cause our team members love is Hello Bistro’s Give Some Green program. For every designated #GiveSomeGreen item on Hello Bistro’s menu, Eat’n Park Hospitality Group donates one pound of produce to the local community food bank. Over the course of 2018, we’re proud to have donated 28,229 pounds of produce to our local food banks in Pittsburgh and Cleveland. #love

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: SMILES FOR MILES Eat’n Park Hospitality Group is in the business of creating smiles, and that extends far beyond our traditional walls. One of the many ways we create smiles is with our mascot, Smiley.

In 2018, Smiley created many smiles in our communities by:

• Donating 17,667 dozen cookies for various community events.

• Hosting 35 Cookie Cruiser events and sharing 4,489 dozen cookies at them.

• Participating in 114 Smiley events with appearances of Smiley himself.

The smiles don’t stop there! We also invest over $25,000 each year to sponsor hundreds of youth sports teams in our communities. Every Eat’n Park Restaurant sponsors at least one team in their neighborhood.
