Creating PDF Unit Packets

Step 1: !The first step is to assemble all of the assignments you intend to put into your packet. If you do not have digital copies, now is the time to do so. !You will need PDF copies of each assignment. If the assignment is in Microsoft Word or Apple Pages, go to the File menu and Print as a PDF.
Requirements: In order to create a PDF Unit Packet, you must have Adobe Acrobat Pro (All WHS computers do). For students to utilize the packets, they must have either Acrobat Pro, or the free Acrobat Reader
Select ‘Print’
Select Save As PDF(c) Matt Lee 2013!
Step 2: !Take all of your PDF assignments and place them into a folder. This will make it easer to keep track of your files.
Step 3: !Now that you have all of your assignments together you can import them into Acrobat Pro. Launch Acrobat and select ‘Create PDF’.

Step 3 (Cont.): !When prompted, select ‘Create PDF Portfolio. Select the layout you prefer and then click ‘Add Files’ to select each of the documents you want in your packet.

You can Shift-Click or
Command-Click to select multiple files at one time.

Step 4 Customization !After you have imported your documents, you either save, or customize the look and feel of your portfolio.

Step 4 Customization (Continued) One of the nice features of Acrobat X is the ability to import files of multiple formats into a PDF document. Additionally, you can create folders that hold documents or pictures for students to use.

Step 5 Save for Reader If not every student has access to Acrobat Pro, you will want to save your PDF Portfolio with rights enabled for Reader.
Select File->Save As...->Reader Extended PDF->Enable Commenting and Measuring
