Dashboard has a wide range of options and functions. We will only use a few of these to create and develop your Course Portfolio Site throughout the semester. Most of our work will take place in the “pages” section of the dashboard.

Any page you create in the dashboard will automatically appear on the main menu of the site’s front end.

1. Click on the “Pages” link in the left menu of the dashboard. This will open up the “Pages” screen.



2. Under “Pages” in the left menu, click on “Add New.” This will open up the “Add New Pages” screen.



3. In the “Add New Page” screen, type the word “About” in the title bar box towards the top of the screen.

5. Click the blue “Publish” button on the right side of the screen.

A “child” page is a sub-page. Child pages will appear in a drop down menu under a main page in the front end main menu.

1. Click on the “Pages” link in the left menu of the dashboard. This will open up the “Pages” screen.



2. Under “Pages” in the left menu, click on “Add New.” This will open up the “Add New Pages” screen.



3. Click the “Parent” drop down menu on the right side of the screen. Select “Graphic Design I” from the menu.

4. Type “Project 1” in the title bar box towards the top of the screen.

7. Repeat this process to create child pages with titles project 2, project 3, project 4, project 5, project 6, and adobe illustrator tutorials. Note the short horizontal line to the left of the “project” pages – this indicates that they are children of the “graphic design I” page.

When you’ve created all the child pages under “Graphic Design I” page, your child pages should appear in a dropdown menu when you hover the mouse over “Graphic Design I” in the main menu.
