Creating Grade Items This guide will demonstrate a typical grading scenario that is built on two elements. 1. A Continuous Assessment component totalling 40% of final grade - the CA is composed of individual and group assignments both comprising 20% of final grade (40% overall) 2. A Final Exam component totalling 60% of final grade Step 1 - After the Grades set-up wizard has run successfully, Click Create New Grade Items
Step 2 - Click Numeric

Step 3 - Enter a Name for the Grade Item (Assignment 1)
Step 4 - Scroll down and Enter Maximum Points - 100 Weight - 20

Step 5 - Click Save and New
Step 6 - Repeat the process for the second CA component 1. Click Numeric 2. Enter Name for the 2nd Grade Item (Assignment 2 - Group Assignment) 3. Enter Maximum Points 100 4. Enter Weight 20 5. Click Save and New
Step 7 - Create a Grade Item for the Final Exam Click Numeric

Step 8 - Enter Name (Final Exam)
Step 9 - Enter: Maximum Points - 100 Weight - 60 Click Save and Close

Step 10 - Your Grade Items are created The Weight column must total 100
