CREATING ART WITH MASKING TAPE and/or

TORN PAPER

Recently artists have been using masking tape in creative ways.

Australian street artist “Buff Diss” abandoned spray paint for

masking tape.

It’s cheap and you

can get a strong line

easily.

This artist uses masking tape and light to create art.

These use duct tape but the idea is the same.

You can even do 3-Dimensional art.

They can be very detailed but color choices may be somewhat limited.

Be creative and think outside the box.

Use your own style.

You can also use torn paper for this assignment

Torn paper art can be very cool!

The criteria for this assignment:• Main media must be masking tape or paper

(you can use other materials if the main medium is tape and/or paper).

• Design/concept should be original and creative (you may use reference materials).

• Goes beyond just “fulfilling the assignment”. You have made the project your own.

• Workmanship should be at a college-level.• Time and effort is evident. You should

spend 6 hours minimum creating this project.
