Formatting CSV file (Open 2010 FCAT.csv)Highlight Column A
Select DATA menu
Select “Text to Columns”.The window “convert text to Column Wizard – Step 1 of 3” will appear.
Click Next
Step 2 of 3 window, select comma only
Click Next
Select appropriate Column data format
Click on “Student_ID” and select “Text” format
Click on “Sur2_Schl” and select “Text” format
Scroll to the right to select “Most Recent FCAT Grade” and select “Text” format
Scroll to the right to select “Prior FCAT Grade” and select “Text” format
Click Finish

Save the file. Click on “No” to save with the latest version..
Highlight Row 1Under Home Menu, click on ”Wrap Text” icon
Change “Most_Recent_” to “2010-“ and click “Replace All”
Delete column M to P, next save the file.
Next open “2011 FCAT” file.
Move the 2011 FCAT to be next to “2010 FCAT” file by follow direction on how to Move/Copy Worksheet
Open “2010 Interim Assessments” and move to 2010 FCAT, then Save As “2010-2011 Data”
The file should contains three sheet tabs: 2010 FCAT, 2011 FCAT, and 2010 Winter IA.
Copy/move “2010 FCAT” to the end of file. Change sheet tab name to “2010-2011 Data”
Use vlookup to merge and match data.
