Creating a Power Point Presentation
• Open Microsoft Power Point
• Create a new presentation using a blank presentation.
• Choose an Auto Layout• Select the sample in the
bottom left hand corner.• Click on OK• Select the text box Click
to add title.• Select a font and text size
from the tool bar.• Type your title.
Adding A Background• Select Format from the tool
bar.• Move the cursor down to
Background and click.• To select a color click on
the arrow in the white rectangular box.
• Color choices will appear.• Click on the background
color you selected.• Click on Apply to All in the
right hand corner.• All your presentation slide
will have the same background color.
Adding Text to your slide
• Select the Click to add text box.
• An indicator that the area is active is the little white squares around the perimeter of the text area.
• Select a font and text size from the tool bar.
• Type your text.• Backspace to delete
the bullet from the text box.
Adding Clip Art• Double click on the picture in
the right hand box.• select a category by clicking
on the picture.• A square should highlight the
perimeter on the picture.• Select a graphic by clicking
on the picture.• A vertical menu bar will
appear. • Click on the first option.• Your picture should be seen
on your presentation slide.• You can resize your clip art
to fit you slide.
Inserting a New Slide
• Select Insert from the tool bar.
• Move your cursor down to New Slide and click.
• Choose a slide from Auto Layout.
• Click on OK• Prepare your new slide.
Adding Slide
Transitions
• Select Slide Show from the tool bar.
• Move your cursor down to slide transition and click.
• Click on the rectangle that reads No Transition.
• Click on the arrow to the right of No Transitions.
• Scroll down and select Random Transition.
• Select Medium as your transition time.
• In the Advance box select Automatically after.
• Add 00:10 to the transition time.• Click on Apply to All in the right
hand corner.
Viewing Your Power Point Presentation
• Select Slide Show from the tool bar.
• Move your cursor down to View Show and click.
• Your presentation will show on your entire screen.
• Hit the Esc button on the top left hand corner of keyboard to stop presentation.
• Save your presentation in your Labwork folder.
